About Us
Moral Welfare Home is a Welfare Home providing care and accommodation for residents with multiple disabilities (physically/ intellectually disabled, psychiatric illness). The Home is gazetted by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, who is providing funding for the residents, who are destitute and wards of the state.
About the Role
The Nursing Aide attends to, and ensures, the physical and mental well-being of residents through clinical nursing practices. He/ She will work in a team of nurses, which is a part of a larger multidisciplinary team utilized by the Home in managing the care of residents. He/ She will ensure that residents are handled with the utmost care, and that ethics are upheld. He/ She will portray an image of professionalism as a representative of the Home, when interacting with external stakeholders from medical institutions.
Key Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of a Nursing Aide are listed in the following, but not limited to:
· Carry out duties and procedures as assigned by the Registered Nurse (Staff Nurse, Senior Staff Nurse, Nurse Manager)
· Assist and supervise hygiene practices, oral toileting, bathing, and grooming of residents
· Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents, while attending to their complaints professionally
· Identify individual resident needs and report any needs or problems to the Registered Nurse
· Assist with serving of meals, and assist with feeding when required
· Maintain and supervise the fluid and nutritional needs of residents
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care given daily
· Assist the Registered Nurse with nursing procedures and treatments, in times of incident
· Assist with admission and orientation of new residents
· Perform routine cleaning of the dispensary and equipment
· Assist with medical escorts, arranging transport, and accompany residents for medical reviews
· Serve as medical chaperones for residents on outing trips
· Any other duties as assigned by direct supervisors, or the Superintendent of the Home
Qualifications and Skills
· Minimally possess certification in Nursing from a recognized institution
· Registered/ Eligible for registration with the Singapore Nursing Board
· Must be willing to work three shifts
· No experience required; fresh graduates are welcome to apply
· Experience with cross-functional/ multidisciplinary teams will be an added advantage
· Comfortable working with residents with multiple disabilities (physical, intellectual, psychiatric illness)
· Effective team player with good interpersonal skills
