Role Summary
We are looking for a Functional Test Manager with strong core banking domain expertise and hands-on testing leadership across Agile and Waterfall deliveries. The role requires solid functional test ownership (planning, design, execution, defect management) along with working knowledge of test automation using Selenium + Java and BDD/Cucumber. The candidate will lead end-to-end test cycles, drive quality outcomes, and collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders across onsite/offshore teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Understand and analyse business requirements and functional specifications across core banking (retail/corporate) modules (e.g., CASA, Deposits, Loans, Trade, Treasury) with strong exposure to Core Banking platform preferably Oracle FLEXCUBE (FCUBS).
2. Own test planning and test design: create/maintain test scenarios, test cases (functional + interface), and ensure comprehensive coverage across SIT/UAT and regression cycles.
3. Lead Agile test execution (sprint-based testing, regression, end-to-end validation) and coordinate with cross-functional teams for timely delivery.
4. Drive defect management: log/triage defects, track to closure, minimize defect leakage, and provide quality reporting/metrics to stakeholders.
5. Collaborate with client stakeholders and internal teams to manage priorities, risks, dependencies, and release readiness.
6. Contribute to/guide automation efforts: review automation approach, identify candidates for automation, and work with teams leveraging Selenium (Java) frameworks.
7. Support estimation, status reporting, defect management, and stakeholder communication; contribute to proposals/presentations if needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
1. Strong experience in Banking functional testing with proven test lead ownership (planning, design, execution, reporting).
2. Strong domain knowledge in Core Banking platform preferably Oracle FLEXCUBE / Oracle Banking solutions and core banking modules (e.g., CASA, Deposits, Loans, Trade, Treasury).
3. Working experience/exposure to test automation .
4. Test Automation using Selenium (Java) frameworks.
5. Solid understanding of SDLC/STLC, Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and end-to-end test lifecycle.
6. Strong client interaction, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to work with distributed onsite/offshore teams.
7. Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and adapt to project needs (including shifts/weekends when required).

1. Experience contributing to automation strategy/roadmap or shift-left testing initiatives.
2. Exposure to AI and adoption of AI in testing activities.
