About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Designer role based in Singapore. The Designer will support related projects by interpreting drawings, preparing detailed design layouts, and translating technical requirements into practical solutions for building materials and systems. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing project specifications, coordinating with project managers and sales teams, and proposing design details that optimize the use of glazing sealants, fire-stop systems, and related products. The role involves producing clear drawings and sketches, recommending suitable materials and finishes, and collaborating with contractors and site teams to resolve design issues during installation. The Designer will also assist in site measurements, mock-ups, and quality checks to ensure designs are feasible, safe, and aligned with client requirements and company standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field; relevant certificates are an advantage.
• Familiarity with construction materials, building systems, and site practices; experience with glazing or fire-stop systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in design or drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar) and basic MS Office skills.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work on-site and occasionally attend site visits, measurements, and inspections across Singapore.

The Role

Join our Autonomy team to design and deploy perception and visual SLAM pipelines that power our next generation of robots. You’ll work across sensor calibration, algorithm development, and embedded optimization, collaborating with navigation, mapping, and hardware engineers to deliver integrated autonomy stacks for fleet deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy autonomy stacks for mobile robots.

• Build and improve SLAM, localization, mapping, path planning, and navigation systems
• Work with ROS / ROS 2 to integrate autonomy pipelines across perception, planning, and control
• Develop and tune robot behavior in real-world indoor and outdoor environments
• Integrate sensors such as LiDAR, IMU, depth cameras, wheel encoders, and GPS where applicable
• Improve robustness in dynamic, cluttered, and partially observable environments
• Debug autonomy issues related to mapping drift, localization loss, obstacle handling, and route planning
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to bring robots from prototype to deployment
• Evaluate system performance through testing, field trials, and continuous iteration

Requirements

● Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

● 0–3 years’ robotics/computer vision experience or exceptional academic projects.

● Proficient in C++17+ and Python on Linux.

● Experience with ROS/ROS2 and sensor calibration.

● Hands-on with perception or SLAM pipelines.

● Familiarity with OpenCV, PCL, and basic deep learning frameworks.

Nice to Have

● Embedded/ARM optimization experience.

● Knowledge of GTSAM, Ceres, or g2o.

● Experience with semantic mapping or modern tracking frameworks.

Job Description:

1. Review technical specifications for new builds, ship repair and conversion projects.

2. Technical project managing for engineering department with Designer, Client, Classification, Yard production and Vendors to meet design compliance and meeting project contractual delivery timeline.

3. Liaise with internal department section engineers to develop drawing list, drawing schedule and addressing to comment from parties related to the projects.

4. Arrange and attending technical meetings in Batam or Singapore.

5. Manage correspondence and technical information flow between Designer, Class, Client, Vendors, Yard and System integrator.

6. Understand of contract, technical, equipment specifications and scope of work and supply to meet design obligations.

7. On time execution of design and engineering production drawing plan for awarded projects.

8. Ensure designers prepare drawing on time, closing of classification review comment, managing of vendors specification and monitoring of production drawing schedule.

9. Ability to read design drawings and retrieve classification rules and Maritime regulation for review.

10. Liaise with engineers in engineering to prepare reply in writing on technical matters. Follow up with the correspondent after sending until the matters resolved.

11. Work with engineering document controller to ensure proper filing of emails with related parties, filing or drawing according to their status, documents issuing status, updating of drawing list status and filing of specification from vendors.

Requirements:

1. Polytechnic / Degree in Marine or Naval Arch. or equivalent

2. At least 2 - 3 years’ experience in project engineering role for engineering department for marine or offshore related industries.

3. Microsoft Words, Excel, Power point and AutoCAD

4. Ability to follow up on correspondents, writing meeting minutes and managing the engineering information or document flow for meeting project compliance and delivery schedule

Job Description:

1. Meeting technical specification requirement, interpretation of class rules to address to review comment, testing procedure, short-circuit verification, familiar with elect standard compliance for oil and gas and knowledge in Integrated Automation System (IAS).

2. Document preparation and review for single line drawing, evaluation of electrical load analysis, power plant, switchboards, Variable frequency drive, starters panel, power distribution, alarm monitoring, Fire protection, PAGA, navigation, communication and others for diesel electric vessel.

3. Develop drawing list, cable termination drawing, cable list , cable tray sizing , breakers sizing, control console and preparing of testing protocol according to building schedule.

4. Require system integration skills to liaise among vendors of electrical power management systems, power plant, propulsion, IAS, equipment suppliers while meeting FMEA compliance for dynamic positioning and check on harmonic distortion.

5. This position is required to be full-time based in Indonesia, Batam.

Requirements:
1. Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or diploma in marine engineering
2. At least 5 years relevant working experience in shipyard or in marine electrical field
