IVVQ / Applications Integration & Validation Engineer

Role Overview

This role focuses primarily on Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) activities for mission-critical defence systems. The engineer will be responsible for validating system behaviour, executing integration and acceptance testing, troubleshooting defects, and ensuring operational readiness across complex software and hardware environments.

The role is approximately 90% testing, validation and system integration, with only 10% coding or software development for automation, tooling, and troubleshooting purposes.

Key Responsibilities

1. System Integration & Validation (Primary Focus – 90%)

•Execute Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) activities for defence-grade systems.

•Develop and maintain test procedures, test cases, validation plans and qualification documentation.

•Perform functional, system, regression, integration and acceptance testing.

•Validate end-to-end workflows across software applications, middleware, databases and infrastructure components.

•Execute interface and API validation (REST/SOAP).

•Conduct message flow verification across middleware and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

•Analyze system behaviour, identify defects and perform root-cause investigation.

•Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and operational readiness activities.

•Work closely with software, infrastructure and system engineering teams to resolve integration issues.

•Produce validation reports, test evidence and qualification documentation required for project milestones.

•Participate in defect triage, anomaly tracking and verification of corrective actions.

2. Test Automation & Tool Development (10%)

•Develop and maintain lightweight automation scripts in Python or C to support testing and validation activities.

•Build test harnesses, simulators and utilities to improve testing efficiency.

•Automate test execution, log collection and result analysis where appropriate.

•Support CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution.

3. Environment & Deployment Support

•Deploy and configure test environments using Docker and Kubernetes.

•Support CI/CD pipelines and release validation activities.

•Monitor application logs and system performance during testing campaigns.

•Assist with infrastructure troubleshooting and operational readiness verification.

Responsibilities

VM Migration Execution

·        Perform hands-on migration of virtual machines from on-premise environments to Azure using Azure Migrate and related tools.

·        Support migration activities including discovery, assessment, replication, testing, and cutover.

·        Execute migration strategies such as rehost (lift-and-shift) and assist with replatforming where required.

·        Conduct validation testing to ensure successful migration and workload functionality.

·        Support post-migration stabilization and performance tuning activities.

·        Troubleshoot migration-related issues across compute, storage, and networking layers.

Cloud &Infrastructure Operations

·        Provision, configure, and manage Azure Virtual Machines and related infrastructure components.

·        Support Windows and Linux server administration in both on-premise and cloud environments.

·        Assist in configuring hybrid networking components (VPN, ExpressRoute, DNS, etc.).

·        Support backup, disaster recovery, and high availability configurations.

Technical Support &Incident Management

·        Resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLA timelines under general supervision.

·        Monitor systems proactively and identify issues before service impact.

·        Investigate, analyse, and troubleshoot technical issues across infrastructure environments.

·        Maintain accurate and timely updates in ticketing systems with resolution details.

·        Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or Technical Leads where required.

Service Delivery &Process Compliance

·        Ensure adherence to ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

·        Support change implementation and document all activities accordingly.

·        Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.

·        Participate in disaster recovery testing and operational readiness activities.

Collaboration &Knowledge Sharing

·        Work closely with Technical Leads, architects, and cross-functional teams to support migration and operational activities.

·        Share knowledge and document solutions for common issues.

·        Support junior engineers where required and contribute to team knowledge base.

Requirements:

·        3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure implementation and support.

·        Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and migration projects.

·        Strong skills in:

-         Networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, VPN)

-         PowerShell scripting (basic to intermediate)
