The Metrics Platform team is a team within Grab's Data Technology organization, with members across Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. The Senior Data Engineer role in the Metrics Platform team is a hybrid data and software engineering role. You will be an important member of the team that designs, builds, and operates Grab's metrics platform across metric serving, ingestion, metadata, query generation, platform APIs and several cross platform integrations. The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Purpose of Role:

To provide on-site support and manage reliability contract of mechanical seals for customer in Malaysia.

Key Activity:

•Assist and guide seal installation / removal at customer site / repair shop.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Provide automated solutions for manual tasks and challenges we're facing.
• Manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code solution.
• Get involved in deep diagnosis of incidents, and engage with multiple accomplished engineering teams on resolutions.
• Supporting different teams to make long-term infrastructure decisions, provide suggestions for infrastructure optimizations.
• Drive operational excellence practice and help improve reliability, stability and scalability challenges with engineering teams.
• Lead junior engineers to complete projects and help them grow.
• Mentor other engineers, define our technical culture, and help build a fast-growing team.

This position is based in Western Digital Tech and Regional Center (M), which is a Center of Excellence located in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, test, integrate and maintain quality firmware for eHDD using best practices like unit test, CI and Agile methodologies.  
• Design and implementation of data structures, software algorithms, data path, and drivers for hardware cores using latest standards C++ and Python.   
• Participate in significant technical investigations from problem statement to conclusions.  
• Creates design documents pertinent to the various phases of firmware development. 
• Devise strategies for in-depth functionality and compatibility testing of complex drive features.
