About the company

Our client is an established regional platform with a growing portfolio of renewable energy, infrastructure and digital projects across APAC. They are looking for an experienced construction disputes lawyer to support contentious matters arising from complex live projects, with particular focus on claims strategy, dispute management and resolution.

The opportunity

This role is suited for a lawyer with strong experience in contentious construction matters, including claims assessment, dispute strategy, settlement negotiations and formal proceedings. You will work closely with internal project, commercial and management teams on live issues across major projects, and help shape the approach to both pre-dispute and active dispute matters.

Key responsibilities

• • Advise on contentious construction and project-related issues arising from renewable energy, infrastructure and digital projects across APAC
  • Assess and manage claims relating to delay, disruption, defects, variation, payment, termination, extension of time and liquidated damages
  • Develop dispute strategy and advise internal stakeholders on legal and commercial risk exposure
  • Support and lead settlement discussions with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and other counterparties
  • Manage pre-dispute processes, including claims analysis, preservation of rights, notices, correspondence and strategic positioning
  • Work with external counsel on adjudication, arbitration, litigation and expert processes where required
  • Review evidence, project records and contractual documentation to support claim prosecution or defence
  • Advise senior management on contentious risk, likely outcomes and resolution options

Requirements

• • Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction
  • At least 8 years’ PQE, with strong disputes experience gained in a leading law firm and/or relevant in-house environment
  • Strong background in construction disputes, arbitration and claims management
  • Experience in infrastructure, energy, engineering, construction or major projects matters
  • Familiarity with EPC, O&M, procurement and other project-related agreements, including FIDIC-based and common law structures

• Work closely with user department and various stakeholders in the preparation of medical, non-medical equipment and furniture specifications for tenders
  Provide recommendation to users based on technical compliance of medical, non-medical equipment and furniture in tender submissions
• Attach to Group team to familiarise with Group BME policies and procedures through supporting the daily operations to align with organisation and regulatory requirements
• Liaise and manage external contractors on service and tender commitment issues Provide technical advisory to end users and senior management on medical, non-medical equipment and furniture related issues
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Min Diploma in Electronics or relevant Engineering
• Min 5 years of experience in service and maintenance of medical equipment.
• Experience in Healthcare/Hospitals

Research & Development

• Lead all aspects of mechanical research and development, from concept creation to mass production
• Drive the mechanical architecture design for computer peripheral devices

Tooling & Design for Manufacturability (DFM)

• Oversee tooling release for production, ensuring designs are optimized for scalability and efficiency
• Develop high-quality 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in line with Razer standards
• Apply DFM and DFA principles to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturing and assembly

Project Management

• Manage mechanical engineering deliverables, including schedules, budgets, and resource planning
• Track and control costs associated with BOM, tooling, jigs/fixtures, and non-recurring engineering (NRE) expenses
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality benchmarks

Vendor & Partner Coordination

• Serve as the key liaison with vendors and contract manufacturers
• Guide external partners in adopting systematic engineering tools and practices such as DOE, DFMEA, geometric tolerancing, FAI, and FACA to drive quality, efficiency, and performance

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed and organized technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle
• Provide clear, consistent updates on project status, challenges, and engineering insights

Quality Assurance & Testing

• Define, implement, and oversee rigorous mechanical testing protocols to ensure product durability and performance
• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure products meet internal and regulatory standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with internal teams—including design, production, and marketing—to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs across all phases of product development
• Act as the go-to expert for resolving mechanical design challenges across multiple projects

Pre-Requisites :

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with 6–8 years of relevant experience
• Proven experience in mechanical design from concept to production, including CAD modeling, DFM/DFA, and tooling
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, cost management, and engineering best practices
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver high-quality products
• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
