The successful candidate is also expected and responsible for hands-on design work, ensuring the highest standards in reviewing team deliverables and maintaining structured progress updates for department heads.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective solutions to complex and most challenging engineering features and components of a fully autonomous cleaning robot

• Lead and manage a team of design engineers in the development of robotic hardware products, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards

• Take ownership of the end-to-end design process, from concept generation to prototyping, testing, and final product release

• Rapid prototyping of design ideas using fabrication methods such as 3D printing, laser cutting, sheet metal to test and validate multiple concepts

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration of hardware components

• Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify design requirements and specifications, considering factors such as functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness

• Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings, ensuring the accuracy and feasibility of designs

• Supervise the creation of technical documentation to efficiently transition the product into production

• Create and maintain accurate engineering documentation, including drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs)

• Perform risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to address potential design challenges and ensure product safety and reliability

• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source components, evaluate production feasibility, and ensure compliance with design specifications

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in robotics hardware, incorporating innovative solutions and technologies into product designs

• Provide technical support and guidance to the production team during manufacturing, troubleshooting any design-related issues, and ensuring successful product assembly

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in product management, design engineering or a related field

• Extensive experience in product development, with a strong understanding of different methodologies such as Agile, Stage-Gate, Lean Product Development, and Design Thinking

• Ability to utilize rapid prototyping to great effect, producing low-fidelity prototypes from 3D printing to validate ideas

• Proficient in using SolidWorks

• Experience in new product introduction (NPI), as well as defining, managing, or launching new functionality at a technology company

• Operations experience in rolling out hardware or robotic products is preferred

• Deep expertise in mechanical design, manufacturing methodologies and material selection

• Proficient in material selection strategies for plastic and metals; considering factors of manufacturability, cost-efficiency, corrosion resistance and UL-94 flame requirements

• Experience with supply chain operations such as vendor sourcing and supplier qualification using industry-recognized methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, APQP, PPAP) 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, employing structured decision-making frameworks such as DFMEA and root cause analysis

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, adept at bridging the gaps between technical and non-technical teams

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment whilst maintaining high standards of execution

Job Requirements

4. Programming Languages: High proficiency in Java (including JVM internals and performance tuning) or Node.js (including its event-driven architecture and asynchronous programming model). Proficiency in both is a significant plus.

Job Summary

Highly skilled and versatile Senior Project Engineer (Healthcare & Semiconductor Sector) to lead and support cross-functional projects at the interface of healthcare technology and semiconductor manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end healthcare engineering projects from concept through production.
• Identify and evaluate new market opportunities in the healthcare sector.
• Identify and engage with potential partners for collaborations, licensing, or joint ventures.
• Negotiate and close business deals and contracts to expand the customer base and market reach.
• Lead or support the preparation of RFPs, and public/private tenders for healthcare projects or supply contracts.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals, consultants, and main contractors, ensuring product requirements meet healthcare industry standards (e.g., HTM 02-01).
• Develop project timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and resource plans.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory standards and documentation practices.
• Support design validation, engineering technical, and specification evaluation for the medical gas system
• Design and support installation of gas delivery systems, including pipelines, valves, manifolds, purifiers, VMBs (Valve Manifold Boxes), and VMPs (Valve Manifold Panels).
• Evaluate system capacity, pressure ratings, flow demands, and safety requirements for both bulk and specialty gas lines.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and startup of gas cabinets and bulk gas supply systems.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor’s or master’s in biomedical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.

Experience:

• 2–5 years in project management in the healthcare or medical device industry.
• 2–5 years in semiconductor process engineering, preferably in cleanroom environments.

Certifications (Preferred): PMP, Excel, Microsoft Project, PPT or relevant project software.
