Job Description:
Results-driven Electrical Engineer with experience in design, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems. Skilled in handling medium-voltage equipment including 22kV switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and high-voltage testing equipment. Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical faults, ensure system reliability, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, install, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment
• Perform commissioning and troubleshooting of 22kV switchgear and power transformers
• Configure, test, and maintain protection relays and protection schemes
• Conduct HIPOT (high-potential) testing and insulation resistance testing
• Interpret and develop single-line diagrams (SLD), schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations
• Coordinate with contractors, technicians, and project teams
• Support preventive maintenance and respond to electrical faults or breakdowns

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of medium-voltage (22kV) power distribution systems
• Expertise in transformers, switchgear, and protection systems
• Familiarity with electrical testing and commissioning procedures
• Ability to analyze faults and implement corrective actions
• Proficient in reading technical drawings and electrical schematics
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

Certifications (if applicable):

• Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) or equivalent
• Safety certifications for high-voltage operations

Experience:

• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, testing, and commissioning preferred
• Experience in industrial, utility, or substation environments is an advantage

Job Summary

Detail-oriented Electrical Installation Engineer skilled in installing, testing, and commissioning medium-voltage electrical systems. Experienced with 22kV switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and high-voltage testing to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant installations in industrial and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and execute electrical installation works for industrial and commercial projects to meet project specifications and deadlines
• Install and commission 22kV switchgear, transformers, and associated medium-voltage equipment ensuring operational readiness
• Perform wiring, cable laying, termination, and panel installation with precision to maintain system integrity
• Conduct HIPOT (high-potential) testing and insulation resistance tests to verify electrical safety and compliance
• Install, configure, and test protection relays and control systems to ensure proper system protection and functionality
• Interpret and apply electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), and schematics to guide installation and commissioning activities
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with relevant safety standards, codes, and project requirements
• Coordinate effectively with contractors, vendors, and project teams to resolve issues and achieve project milestones
• Troubleshoot installation problems promptly to maintain system performance and reliability

Required competencies and certifications

• Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) or equivalent certification to perform electrical installation work safely and legally
• Workplace safety certifications such as electrical safety and work-at-height to ensure compliance with safety regulations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field to support technical understanding and execution
• Experience in electrical installation, construction, or commissioning projects to enhance practical skills and project delivery
• Background in industrial plants, substations, or commercial buildings to provide relevant industry knowledge

• Programming, testing, commissioning, and handover of Electrical Systems (22KV Switch gears & transformers, protection relays, and hipot)
  Prepare and maintain all required commissioning documentation which includes client submission.
• Supervision and Monitoring of defined test procedures start-up sequences, reliability test runs, and performance tests.
• Monitoring of functional and operational tests of various equipment to prepare the equipment for the first start-up.
• Manage and supervise a team of experienced commissioning technicians to execute Live equipment testing in a highly professional and safe manner
  Ensure QAQC integration within commissioning processes and procedures.
• Witness and provide contractor resources to support FAT as required.
  Preparation of inspection reports, certificates, progress reports, and site correspondence.
• Liaise closely with the client QAQC/Testing teams.
• Generating MSCR's (Maintenance System Change Request) at the project handover stage.
• Ensure that commissioning acceptance criteria is aligned with design specification and client requirements.
• Any other duties required by the Commissioning Manager.
