Job Purpose:
The Director of Teaching & Learning leads the development of high-quality teaching and learning across the School. This role works closely with members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure a clear, consistent and effective approach to curriculum implementation, instructional practice and professional learning.

The Director fosters a structured, inclusive and high-expectation learning environment that reflects the School’s Vision, Mission and Values. The role requires clear leadership, the ability to think strategically to support the School’s continued growth and development, and a visible presence to support staff and students.

A central responsibility of the role is to build staff capability through high-quality professional development, instructional coaching and ongoing support, ensuring that teachers are equipped to deliver effective and engaging learning experiences.

The Director works across the School to ensure curriculum frameworks are clearly understood, consistently implemented and adapted to meet the needs of all students, including those with diverse learning needs, the twice-exceptional (2e)learners and those who learn differently.

Responsibilities:

1.Leadership & School Culture

§  Promote a school culture aligned with the Vision, Mission and Values, fostering high expectations, inclusion and collaboration.

§  Maintain a visible presence across the School, engaging in classrooms and working alongside staff to support high-quality teaching and learning.

§  Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to implement strategic priorities related to teaching and learning.

§  Establish and communicate clear expectations for curriculum implementation, instructional practice and professional conduct.

§  Ensure expectations for teaching and learning are consistently understood and applied across the School.

§  Work with the Subject Leads and Specialists to ensure the curriculum, including programmes such as ASDAN, reflects best practice and meets the needs of students.

§  Ensure curriculum frameworks are consistently and effectively implemented across the School.

§  Champion high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring alignment between curriculum, instruction and student support.

§  Contribute to school improvement and quality assurance processes aligned with accreditation frameworks, including EduTrust, WASC, COBIS and FOBISIA.

2. Student Support and Well-being

§  Ensure teaching and learning approaches support students in a safe, inclusive and structured environment.

§  Work closely with the Director of Therapy and Pastoral Care to ensure alignment between curriculum, instruction and therapeutic and pastoral support.

§  Promote teaching practices that support a balanced approach to student development, including academic, social and emotional growth.

§  Ensure curriculum and instructional practices are responsive to the needs of students with a range of learning profiles, including those with diverse learning needs, the twice-exceptional (2e) learners and those who learn differently.

3. Communication & Collaboration

§  Maintain clear communication with parents regarding teaching and learning, including curriculum and student progress where appropriate.

§  Build strong partnerships with parents to support student learning and engagement, including leading workshops or information sessions where appropriate.

§  Lead staff meetings and professional learning sessions to ensure alignment of expectations and priorities related to teaching and learning.

§  Work collaboratively with Heads of School and Subject Leads to ensure consistency in curriculum and instructional practice across the School.

§  Represent the School with prospective families and external partners in relation to teaching and learning where appropriate.

4. Staff Leadership and Professional Development

§  Support and develop staff through coaching, collaboration and targeted professional learning.

§  Build staff capacity across the School to deliver high-quality teaching through effective curriculum implementation, instructional practice and assessment.

§  Lead the design and delivery of high-quality professional development aligned with School priorities.

§  Provide instructional coaching through classroom observation, modelling and feedback to improve teaching and learning.

§  Support teachers in setting clear goals for professional growth and instructional improvement.

§ Promote a culture of continuous improvement through reflective practice, feedback and professional dialogue.

§ Support school leaders in developing and maintaining high-quality teaching and learning practices.

§ Represent the School in conducting professional development workshops both locally and regionally.

Requirements:
§ Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction or related field.
§ Minimum 8 years of teaching experience including responsibility in curriculum development, teaching and learning or school improvement.

§ Demonstrates the ability to lead and improve the quality of teaching and learning through professional development, instructional coaching and curriculum leadership, ensuring high standards across the School.

§ Demonstrates strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to support effective implementation across a range of subjects and year groups.

§ Demonstrates the ability to design and deliver high-quality professional learning that builds staff capability and improves teaching practice.

§ Demonstrates strong coaching and facilitation skills, supporting teachers and leaders to develop effective instructional practice.

§ Builds positive professional relationships with staff while setting clear expectations, supporting professional growth and maintaining accountability for high standards of practice.

§ Demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusive education, ensuring teaching and learning approaches support students with diverse and high potential learning needs.

§ Communicates clearly and professionally with staff, students and parents, fostering strong relationships and promoting a positive school culture.

The Winstedt School is a growing K–12 international school with approximately 70 full-time staff who are passionate and committed to our mission of transforming education in Asia for students who learn differently.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and service-oriented individual with experience working with children to support student services, school operations, and administrative functions. Reporting to the Head of HR and Admin, this role provides administrative and operational support across student services, working closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure smooth day-to-day school operations.

Key Responsibilities

A: Student Administration & Front Desk

• Manage front desk operations as the first point of contact for students, parents, and visitors
• Respond to enquiries via phone, email, and walk-ins in a timely manner
• Manage the school email inbox, ensuring timely responses and appropriate routing of enquiries
• Maintain and update student records, including attendance, reports, and transcripts
• Process attendance updates, medical certificates, and generate reports for management
• Assist with administrative processes including student letters and concession card applications
• Support documentation for new joiners and student withdrawals, ensuring records are accurately maintained, properly archived, and accessible via shared drive

B: Operations &Coordination

• Liaise with external vendors (e.g. transport and catering) to support daily school operations
• Coordinate student-related services such as bus arrangements and learning support sessions
• Use school systems such as iSAMS, Open Apply and internal feedback platforms to support daily administrative tasks
• Assist the School Principal in managing calendars, schedules and appointments with parents, teachers, and students.

C: School Programmes & Events

• Provide administrative and logistical support for school programmes (e.g. camps, assessments, trips, learning journeys)
• Assist in organising key school events such as parent-teacher conferences, school photoshoots, and graduations
• Provide administrative and logistical support for school events such as orientations and school fairs, including coordination of communications, materials, and refreshments where required.

D: School Uniforms Management

• Maintain accurate records of school uniform stock and update inventory systems accordingly.
• Monitor stock levels regularly and flag items for reordering when necessary.
• Assist with ordering uniforms and liaising with suppliers to ensure timely restocking.
• Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries to ensure correct items and quantities are received.
• Support the distribution of uniforms and respond to basic queries from parents, students, and staff.

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in any discipline.
• Demonstrated track record of providing exceptional customer service.
• Mature, meticulous and possesses a high level of discretion and integrity.
• Experience working with students is a major plus; and must enjoy working with children.
• Culturally intelligent to work in an environment with different nationalities and backgrounds.
• Proactive team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced school environment.
• Able to work Mondays-Fridays from 8am-5pm.
