We are a growing construction engineering company seeking a hands-on and committed Accountant / Senior Accounts Executive to manage the full set of accounts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a start-up / growing business environment, is adaptable, and willing to take on a broad scope of responsibilities beyond traditional accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Handle full set of accounts, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and month-end/year-end closing
· Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis
· Manage project accounting, including tracking project costs, revenue recognition (percentage of completion), and work-in-progress (WIP)
· Ensure timely and accurate progress billing, invoicing, and collections
· Prepare and submit GST returns and ensure compliance with Singapore tax regulations
· Perform bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and maintain balance sheet schedules
· Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretarial firms
· Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
· Establish and improve internal controls, accounting processes, and SOPs
· Assist in implementation and enhancement of accounting/ERP systems
· Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to management and project teams
Requirements:
· Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, (LCCI, CAT, ACCA).
· Minimum 5 years relevant working experience.
· Prior experience in engineering, construction, or project-based industries preferred
· Strong knowledge of full set accounting and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS)
· Hands-on experience with GST filing and IRAS compliance
· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MYOB, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
· Meticulous, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Good oral and written communication skills (spoken and written English and Chinese to liaise with English and Chinese speaking stakeholders)
