Job Summary
Design and coordinate mechanical systems for construction projects, ensuring compliance with standards and safety regulations. Manage multiple projects, conduct inspections, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver efficient MEP solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical systems using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks to prepare detailed mechanical system drawings
- Perform HVAC system design, including duct sizing and pressure drop calculations to optimize air distribution
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical system installations, ensuring integration with architectural and electrical requirements
- Conduct clash detection and produce Combined Services Drawings (CSD) to resolve conflicts between trades
- Lead site installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems to ensure project specifications are met
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of Automated Rail Mounted Gantry (ARMG) cranes to reduce downtime by 90%
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in automation yard cranes to improve operational efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of crane maintenance activities and manage inspections by relevant authorities
- Adhere strictly to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations while working at heights and in live traffic areas
- Study construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure compliance and project alignment
- Liaise with contractors, clients, suppliers, and relevant authorities to resolve on-site issues and provide project updates
- Attend coordination and technical meetings to align project requirements and progress
- Apply knowledge of Singapore Standards (SS/CP) through BCA in design and project execution
- Gain practical insight into M&E maintainability and access requirements through hands-on maintenance of heavy mechanical equipment
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferable)
- Four years of experience in mechanical system design
- Experience in coordination and various process piping systems
