Quantity Surveyor in the Building & Construction Industry
Working Location: Ubi Area
Working Hours: 5 Days (Mon - Fri, 8:30AM – 5:30PM)
Salary Package: Basic Salary + Variable Bonus
Duration: Full-time/Contract
Key Responsibilities
Manage and monitor project budgets and cost controls to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
Oversee the full project cycle from contract award to completion, including submission of tender, preparation of progress claims, & preparation of final accounts.
Prepare procurement lists and schedules.
Source, liaise, and obtain quotations from subcontractors; evaluate submissions and draft subcontract documents as required.
Record and track defects, maintain proper documentation for all variation orders (VO), and ensure timely submission of VO costs (daily/weekly).
Coordinate with the Project Manager on monthly progress claims.
Evaluate subcontractors’ VO claims and ensure all variations follow proper procedures.
Follow up on payment certificates for subcontractors and issue payment advice to clients promptly.
Handle progress claims, payments, variation orders, and project finalization.
Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
Strong communication and coordination skills to liaise effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and good knowledge of local standards and requirements.

Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Ensure that construction work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
Monitor project schedule, manpower, materials, and progress.
Resolve technical problems and site issues.
Supervise workers to ensure they perform their tasks properly and safely
Prepare site reports, progress updates, and other necessary documentation.
Enforce site safety rules and ensure compliance with workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations.
Prepare bar-bending schedules if required.
Capable of handling more than 1 project at a time.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in managing construction sites.
Good knowledge of construction methods, regulations, and safety requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
Able to work independently and under pressure.
Familiar with local building codes and project management tools.
Familiar with reinforced concrete trade.
Competent in preparing bar-bending schedules for reinforced concrete works
