The Associate Director Mergers and Acquisitions role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing acquisitions and strategic partnerships that strengthen the company’s scientific, operational, and commercial capabilities.

This position partners closely with the Chief Strategy Officer, Executive Team, and functional leaders to manage the full deal lifecycle — from opportunity assessment through due diligence, negotiation, and post‑merger integration.

Responsibilities:

Financial &Strategic Analysis

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of the CRO and broader biopharma services landscape to identify trends, competitive movements, and strategic opportunities.
• Identify, assess, and prioritise potential acquisition and partnership targets based on strategic fit, market positioning, operational flexibility, and value‑creation potential.
• Lead financial modelling and valuation analyses; clearly articulate deal economics and commercial impact.
• Coordinate cross-functional due diligence to assess risks and inform investment decisions.
• Partner with the Board and Executive Leadership on scenario planning, business cases, and investment approval materials.
• Serve as PMO for M&A transactions, managing timelines and deliverables across the deal lifecycle.

Executive &Board-Level Materials

• Prepare executive‑ready slide decks summarising financial results, operational performance, and key strategic themes.
• Support the Director of Corporate Strategy in drafting Board papers and investor packages with concise, data‑backed insights.
• Translate complex operational and financial information into clear narratives for senior stakeholders.

Market &Competitive Intelligence

• Conduct ongoing research on global CRO competitors, M&A activity, funding trends, pricing movements, and service line innovations.
• Produce monthly or quarterly intelligence summaries to inform both internal decision‑making and external messaging.
• Support benchmarking analyses of the CRO’s performance versus peers.

Cross‑FunctionalCoordination

• Partner with Finance, FP&A, Operations, Commercial/BD, and regional leaders to ensure data accuracy and message alignment.
• Support executive preparation for investor Q&A, strategy reviews, and leadership briefings.

Performance Tracking& Reporting of Acquisitions

• Track performance of acquired businesses throughout integration.
• Prepare post-acquisition reviews assessing integration progress and value realization.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• An Advanced Degree (PhD or Master’s) in Finance, Business, Economics, Life Sciences, or related field.

Experience:

• 7-10+ years’ experience in strategy, finance, investor relations, corporate development, consulting, or business analysis.

• Significant experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, strategy consulting, or similar, ideally within life sciences, CRO, biotech, or healthcare services sectors.

• Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.

• Deep understanding of clinical research and biopharma ecosystem.

• Demonstrated ability to lead complex transactions and manage cross‑functional teams.

The Corporate Development and Strategy Director plays a critical role in shaping and executing the long-term direction of the organisation. Operating as a key strategic partner to and reporting into the Chief Strategy Officer, this role drives corporate strategy and corporate development initiatives, leads cross functional high-impact projects through a global project management office, and develops materials that inform key decision-making for the Executive Team and Board. Responsible for market intelligence, stakeholder engagement and strategic partnership development.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Initiatives & Corporate Projects

• Lead or support enterprise-wide strategic initiatives aligned with the corporate strategy, including growth strategy development, operational improvements, and global transformation programs.
• Lead or support development of business plans with clear financial objectives for new offerings and products 
• Work closely with senior business leaders to assess strategic priorities, define problem statements, and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Build data driven frameworks, feasibility assessments, and business cases to evaluate new opportunities or strategic shifts.
• Track and report on the progress of key strategic programs and performance against strategy.
• Lead the design and delivery of long-term strategic initiatives, including managing annual corporate planning cycles and cross-functional special projects.
• Drive the strategy for integrating Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning across organizational processes for both efficiency gains and competitive differentiation

Executive & Board Level Material

• Develop high quality presentations, insights, and briefing documents for the Executive Leadership team, and Board of Directors with CSO guidance.
• Translate complex data and strategic issues into crisp, compelling narratives suitable for senior audiences.
• Prepare materials for investor related discussions and partner engagements (as required).

Market & Competitive Intelligence

• Drive market research and competitive analysis across the global CRO, biotech, and pharma landscape.
• Identify strategic trends, emerging risks, and new opportunities in clinical development and outsourced R&D services.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

• Build strong relationships across global functional and regional teams to drive alignment and execution of strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Corporate Development, BD, Operations, and HR on cross functional strategic work.
• Support and mentor more junior strategy team members as needed.

Minimum Qualifications &Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required in Business Management or related field, MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 10+ years in a leadership role, with either management consulting (Life Sciences practice) with CRO/healthcare strategy experience.
• Advanced skills in data analytics, visualization, valuation, financial modelling and storyboarding 
• Experience in strategic planning and business analysis, business process improvement 
• Experience in market analysis, go-to-market strategy development, and competitor analysis

About the Opportunity

The Group Financial Controller Group Financial Controller to lead the company’s financial reporting function and treasury. An experienced group financial controller or CFO, who knows what a best-in-class financial reporting function requires. The Group Financial Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer, and work closely with the organisation's executive team, including the Chief Executive Officer.

About the Role

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Strong technical background with broad financial responsibility for statutory reporting, group financial reporting, treasury, and tax.
• Established international leadership capability with an understanding this role requires working hours across multiple time zones.
• Experience leading an offshore Financial Shared Services function would be preferred.

• Comfort with timely and accurate reporting cycles (weekly cash, flash P&Ls)
• Supporting value creation plans (cost-out, margin improvement, growth tracking)
• Preparing Board, Mgmt & CFO packs for business updates
• Experience with exit readiness (data rooms, QoE, vendor due diligence)
• Working in a PE-backed business (or heavy interaction with PE owners)

        Group Reporting & Consolidation (Multi-Entity)

• Managing complex group structures (multiple legal entities, jurisdictions)
• Statutory and management consolidation (monthly / quarterly)
• Intercompany accounting, eliminations, transfer pricing awareness
• Multi-currency reporting and FX exposure
• Strong control of month-end close timelines

Offshore / Shared Services Centre Leadership

• Scaling & stabilizing an offshore finance center
