Job Description:

Qualifying Criteria:

• Hold Chief Engineer certificate of competency.
• More than 4 years experience in LNG Ship Management.

Job Requirement

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical operations of assigned vessels (Tanker/LPG/Ethane). The role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective management, while maintaining compliance with all class, flag state, and international maritime regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing ship maintenance plans for assigned vessels.
• Monitor and update maintenance activities through the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).
• Oversee vessel surveys, certifications, and ensure compliance with statutory and class requirements.
• Lead investigations into incidents/accidents, conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Possess strong crisis management skills to effectively handle marine incidents and accidents.
• Plan, prepare, and oversee inspections and dry dockings; provide regular detailed reports.
• Maintain up-to-date vessel plans, drawings, and manuals.
• Coordinate procurement and timely delivery of spares, stores, lubricants, and paints etc.

Education & Certifications

Experience

• Experience as Technical Superintendent managing LPG/Ethane gas carriers with MAN ME engines.
• At least 2 years’ experience as Chief Engineer on board relevant vessels.
• Hands-on experience with ME-C electronic engines and gas (LPG/Ethane) carriers.
• Familiarity with dual-fuel engines and Ethane gas carriers is highly preferred.
• Drydocking experience is an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of ISM Code, classification societies, and international maritime regulations.

Job Purpose:
The Section Head, Planned Maintenance System (PMS) team is responsible for the effective management, compliance, and continuous improvement of the PMS across the MOL GSM fleet. This role ensures that all shipboard and shore‑based maintenance activities comply with MOL standards, ISM Code, Class, Flag State, and statutory requirements. The PMS Manager acts as the subject‑matter expert for PMS governance, data quality, audits, and system optimisation, supporting safe, reliable, and cost‑effective vessel operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

PMS Governance & Administration

Manage and control the Planned Maintenance System PAL for LNG vessels.
Ensure all machinery, equipment, and critical systems are accurately reflected in the PMS.
Define and maintain maintenance plans, intervals, job scopes, and critical equipment settings.
Ensure PMS data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across the fleet.
Spare Optimisation.

Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

• Ensure PMS compliance with:

- ISM Code requirements

- Classification Society rules

- Flag State regulations

- MOL / MOL GSM technical standards

• Support internal, external, Class, Flag, vetting, and customer audits
• Monitor and close PMS‑related non‑conformities, observations, and recommendations

Maintenance Planning & Execution Support

• Monitor planned vs. completed maintenance and manage PMS backlog

Dry‑Docking & Major Maintenance Support

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze PMS data to identify trends in failures, overdue maintenance, and reliability risks

Stakeholder Coordination

Job Requirements:

Education: Chief Engineer/MEO Class 1 Certificate of Competency, Motor & steam,with Dangerous Cargo Endorsement and additionally, an MSc.

Experience: Sailed as Chief Engineer on LNG vessels for at least 3 years, with sailing experience on all types of vessels of at least 15 years and at least 5 years of shore experience in a ship owner/management company. Proficiency in PAL PMS.

Knowledge: Good knowledge of ISM (International Safety Management Code), TMSA (Tanker Management and Self-Assessment), SIRE (Ship Inspection Report Program), and ISO standards. Monitoring & sharing international rules, regulations, and shipping industries’ standards, including interfacing with regulatory agencies

IT Skills: Proficiency in IT tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.

Soft Skills: Good organisational and communication skills, a positive attitude, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a team player. Strong analytical and reporting capabilities, close attention to detail and data discipline. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
