TCM therapists play a multifaceted role within the healthcare system, offering complementary and alternative approaches to traditional medical treatment. Providing consultations, diagnoses, and various TCM therapies like acupuncture, cupping, Tuina massage, and herbal prescriptions.
1. Clinical Practice
· Deliver TCM therapist – including Acupuncture, Cupping, Tunia, Osteopathic Bone settingand Herbal Prescription – in accordance with Singapore’s TCM Practitioners Actand clinic protocols.
· Utilisespecialised therapy techniques and in-house equipment to customise individualtreatment plans (training provided).
· Collaboratewith TCM physicians to formulate, review and adjust holistic treatment regimensand dispense prescribed medication safely.
2. PatientEngagement & Follow-Up
· Conductthorough patient assessments at each visit; record findings and progress in theclinic’s electronic medical record system.
· Providepatients with clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment plans and expectedoutcomes, addressing questions and concerns.
· Scheduleand perform follow-up calls or appointments to monitor recovery, adjusttherapies and ensure adherence to home-care instructions.
3. Clinic Operations & Hygiene
· Maintain strict hygiene and sterilization standards for treatment rooms, equipment and consumables, in line with NEA and MOH guidelines.
· Ensure treatment areas are clean, well-stocked and organised at all times; flag inventory shortages of herbs or disposables to the supervisor.
· Assist with daily opening and closing procedures, including equipment checks, waste disposal and safety inspections.
4. Patient Education & Promotion
· Educate patients on self-care techniques, lifestyle modifications and clinic services(e.g. wellness packages, product lines).
· Contribute to in-clinic workshops or community outreach events to raise awareness of TCM modalities.
5. Quality Assurance & Professional Development
· Monitor and evaluate post-treatment outcomes; report any adverse events or patient feedback promptly.
· Participate in regular case reviews, team meetings and mandatory continuing-education workshops to maintain your TCM practitioner license (if any).
