Job Description
1. Prepare and cook menu items according to standard recipes and quality standards
2. Supervise and guide junior cooks and kitchen assistants
3. Ensure consistency in food taste, presentation, and portion control
4. Assist in menu planning and development
5. Monitor food stock levels and coordinate with purchasing for replenishment
6. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
7. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
8. Train new kitchen staff when required
9. Handle kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cook or Senior Cook (typically 2 years)
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP)
- Good leadership and communication skills
