Job Summary
Supervise and manage Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations to ensure technical compliance, safety, and quality in tunnelling projects, while coordinating with contractors to resolve technical challenges and achieve project milestones.
Responsibilities
- Supervise TBM operations including excavation, ring building, backfill grouting, and alignment control to meet project technical specifications and milestones
- Monitor TBM parameters such as torque, advance rate, and face pressure alongside geotechnical instruments to control settlement risks and protect structural and ground integrity
- Enforce workplace safety and health (WSH) regulations for tunnelling and compressed air works to maintain underground safety standards
- Inspect precast concrete tunnel segments, key joints, and waterproofing systems during installation to ensure quality compliance
- Report and coordinate daily and weekly progress updates, collaborating with the Main Contractor to resolve on-site technical issues promptly
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in TBM tunnelling operations
- Ability to work 6 days per week and perform shift work during critical project phases
- Capability to work in compressed air environments
- Willingness to be stationed at the project site office

- Familiarity with Land Transport Authority (LTA) specifications, procedures, and submission processes
