Job Summary
The Company, a global leader in marine services and ship chandlery, is seeking a meticulous and driven Accountant to join their finance team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial integrity of our international operations, supporting our mission to provide world-class maritime solutions.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly financial reports and analyze key variances to inform management decisions.
- Perform quarterly GST reconciliations and ensure timely submission to regulatory authorities.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in all financial reports, statements, and calculations.
Finance Operations & Team Leadership
- Lead daily finance operations and supervise the finance team to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Oversee stock-take and inventory management processes to maintain accurate records.
- Mentor and guide team members to enhance operational quality and team performance.
Financial Closing & Audit
- Manage monthly and year-end financial closing schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Lead audit activities by coordinating with auditors and resolving queries promptly.
- Liaise with auditors, bankers, tax agents, company secretary, and statutory bodies to ensure compliance and protect company interests.
Business Support & Process Improvement
- Provide analytical and financial insights to support strategic business decision-making.
- Review accounting processes, policies, and reporting workflows; recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
- Drive cross-functional projects aimed at cost savings, profitability enhancement, or operational efficiency.
- Participate in system enhancements and implementations to support evolving business needs.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Possess a CCA / CPA / CA certification.
- Demonstrate commercial acumen with a strong understanding of market dynamics and audit experience.
- Apply analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- Work independently, proactively, and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal English.
