About the role
This role is for a is a newly launched SME lender preparing to enter the market. We offer working capital loans & other financing solutions to Singapore SMEs. You will be our first hire — working directly with the owner to take the business from zero to one.
This is an entrepreneurial role. For the first 3–6 months you will operate solo, along with the founder, across every part of the business: credit, operations, product, design reviews, go-to-market. As we launch and scale, additional hires will follow and you will have the opportunity to step up as Head of Credit & Operations or General Manager based on your interests, capability and performance.
In addition to the salary, milestone bonus up to S$30,000 in Year 1, tied to actionable targets, and measurable portfolio quality KPIs.
What you'll do
- Credit underwriting model — design and operationalise our credit policy, scorecards, and underwriting workflow end-to-end
- Business process design — build the operational playbook across origination, credit, disbursal, servicing, collections, and reconciliation
- Product & tech collaboration — provide lending-domain input into our ongoing LMS/LOS build; coordinate with founder & web developer on design, UX, and workflow automation
- Launch execution — help take the business live and iterate based on real portfolio signals
- Zero-to-one everything — SOP authoring, compliance policies, partner onboarding, first hires, and whatever else the business needs
Who we're looking for
- 7–8+ years in SME lending, ideally from a non-bank lender, finance company, or fintech (Funding Societies, Validus, Aspire, Hong Leong Finance, Sing Investments, Ethoz, etc.)
- Hands-on experience in credit underwriting, loan processing, or portfolio management for Singapore SMEs - wide breadth of knowledge and deep understanding of the SME lending business model, underwriting, lead generation, and other best practices
- High agency, independent, driven — comfortable operating without structure, defining your own priorities, and shipping
- Extremely high integrity — non-negotiable given our industry context and the trust customers place in a lender
- Strong operational instincts; able to go from "what should the process look like?" to a documented workflow and working team
- Singaporean or PR only
