Job Purpose

The role will be responsible for day-to-day legal issues for the Allianz Asia Pacific Regional Office (AZAP) and certain Allianz entities in Singapore, as well as provide legal advice, guidance and oversight on legal matters for other Allianz operating entities in the Asia Pacific Region (AZAP OEs).

The candidate will be responsible for independently leading, managing and/or implementing (as required) legal related aspects of M&A transactions and group / regional initiatives and projects in the Asia Pacific region.

What you do

Legal

• Drive and lead legal aspects of group, regional projects / initiatives in the Asia Pacific region. Work closely with / provide guidance to AZAP OE legal teams to align with Group’s / AZAP’s strategic direction.
• Drive and steer legal workstreams for M&A, restructurings and joint venture transactions in the Asia Pacific region. Work closely with Group Legal, AZAP M&A and OE teams to manage fast-paced transactions and demanding timelines. Manage and guide external legal counsel, as applicable.
• Provide legal and regulatory advice and transaction support for complex M&A, restructurings and joint venture transactions across the Asia Pacific region, including regional partnerships, strategic corporate transactions and similar matters (with support from external legal counsel as applicable).
• Provide business oriented legal advice and solutions in respect of all types of contracts entered by AZAP and other Allianz entities in Singapore.
• Drive the negotiation and drafting of a range of commercial agreements, ranging from NDAs and simple commercial contracts to complex cross border transactional documents, and managing relevant stakeholders independently.
• Anticipate future trends and risks in regulation and compliance and incorporating those into advice and business practices.
• Monitor and provide support to AZAP and local OE legal teams to implement corporate governance and corporate secretarial matters.
• Provide training to employees regarding legal topics (as required).

What you bring

Technical skills:

• Sound experience working on commercial and transactional contract negotiation and management.
• Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies (including AI) and the roll out of technology-driven initiatives.

Required experience:

• Qualitifed lawyer, Law degree (LLB) or equivalent with at least 5 years of post qualification experience working in a major law firm required
• Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating legal agreements, including transactional agreements and IT agreements
• Fluent verbal and written English
• Experience / knowledge in applicable laws such as Europe’s AI Act, DORA, GDPR, etc.
• Proven team player and ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues from differentbackgrounds, functions and cultures
• Experience advising internationally across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in the Asia Pacific region a plus
• Prior experience advising or working in the insurance or financial services industry a plus

Job Summary:

The Senior Operational Resilience Specialist is a leading member of the globally operating resilience team of Allianz Commercial. Embedded in a group of experts based around the world, you design defense strategies and implement tactical measures which protect the organization's processes, IT assets, employees and facilities against threats. Domains include outsourcing/third party risk management (TPRM), business continuity management (BCM), emergency response (ER) & crisis management (CM) and physical security (PS). In this role, you develop requirements into practical, operational measures and also coach other team members. While you are going to hold global lead responsibility for selected focus domains, you direct the delivery for the Asia region (Singapore, India, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan) across all domains.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strengthen operational resilience across Asia: Design and continuously improve frameworks for business continuity, crisis management, incident management, and outsourcing/TPRM, ensuring critical operations can withstand and recover from disruptions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance: Monitor adherence to regulatory requirements, conduct risk assessments and audits, and maintain clear documentation, reporting and control frameworks across resilience and outsourcing activities.
• Lead resilience planning and testing: Deliver activities such as business impact analyses, develop and maintain continuity and crisis plans, and lead regular crisis simulations and business continuity tests to validate preparedness and identify improvement areas.
• Manage incidents and regulatory coordination: Act as a key contact during operational disruptions, support incident and crisis response, coordinate regulatory notifications, e.g. for material outsourcing arrangements, and ensure timely escalation and resolution when needed.
• Drive governance, reporting and risk insights: Maintain resilience and outsourcing/TPRM registers, deliver regular reporting to senior stakeholders, perform third-party concentration risk analysis, and monitor regulatory developments to keep frameworks up to date.
• Engage, train and influence stakeholders: Provide expert guidance to leaders and teams, translate complex regulatory requirements into practical actions, and deliver training and awareness initiatives to build a strong operational resilience culture across the region.

Key Requirements:

• Multiple years' experience in one or several safeguarding functions. Examples include incidentmanagement, business continuity, data protection, compliance, information security,or physical security.
• Project management-type working style, i.e. structuring unfamiliar topics into manageable actions and orchestrating multiple activities simultaneously.
• Commanda gravitas which allows to influence without authority and enables to steer resilience topics across the local teams in Asia region countries.
• Ability to remain calm and effective during high-intensity periods.
• Able to integrate AI-driven insights into your work to optimize outcomes and support broader organizational goals. 
• Confidence to drive own topics independently.
• Willing to work with teams across times zones.
• Good education in business, technology or (political) science fields.

We are looking for a Regional Head of IT, Asia, based in Singapore.

The Impact You Will Have

As the Regional Head of IT, Asia, you are responsible for driving strategic IT initiatives aligned with the region's growth strategy. This includes transparent communication with region management on significant IT changes, leading the adoption and integration of Generative AI technologies, managing application portfolio renewal and decommissioning as appropriate, and overseeing IT cost management.

The role also provides leadership for GenAI projects, contributes to rapid productivity initiatives, and steers the IT operations and delivery of Allianz Technology of the region. • Strong networking capabilities, with demonstrated experience in building and maintaining long‑term, profitable relationships at senior levels within both broker and client organizations.
• Underwriting Expertise: ability to triage, assess, understanding of complex risks, with capability in designing insurance solutions. Experience with structured products, unbundled fronting, and their practical application.
• Significant experience operating within a complex, global matrix organization, demonstrating agility, collaboration, and effective stakeholder management.
• Strong Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate clear, compelling messages and deliver persuasive narratives to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, and drive action.
