We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable professional to support research operations across the institute’s research facilities, with primary responsibility on asset management and operational readiness.

The role will support the smooth functioning of laboratories by ensuring that laboratory assets, equipment, and infrastructure are well managed throughout their lifecycle, while also contributing to broader research operations, business continuity, and sustainability initiatives that underpin high-quality skin research.

Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will support a broad portfolio of research operations activities, with particular responsibility for asset governance, coordination, and execution.

Asset Management and Governance

• Support laboratory operations across multiple research spaces, ensuring that laboratory assets and infrastructure are available, functional, and fit-for-purpose to meet operational needs.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date asset records across multiple laboratories, including capital equipment, IT devices, and shared laboratory infrastructure, in relevant asset management systems (e.g. PPMS, SATS/FAMS).
• Conduct asset sighting and verification exercises, including reconciliation of discrepancies, follow-up with custodians, and documentation of outcomes.
• Oversee asset tagging, movement, loan, return, and disposal processes in accordance with institutional policies and audit requirements.
• Support asset lifecycle activities, including commissioning, transfer, disposal, insurance coverage, and warranty documentation.
• Contribute to asset-related reports and documentation for management review and internal/external audits.

Operational Support

• Support the institute’s operations, including daily operations, space changes, equipment refresh projects, and renovation or relocation activities from an asset perspective.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and A*STAR corporate partners (e.g. OSFA, IT, Finance) to ensure timely and accurate execution of asset and operations-related tasks.
• Support procurement activities for laboratory equipment and infrastructure, including documentation, delivery tracking, and asset registration.
• Assist with demand aggregation and disposal coordination initiatives.

Compliance, Safety, and Sustainability

• Ensure asset management practices comply with institutional policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.
• Support environmentally sustainable operations by facilitating reuse, redeployment, or responsible disposal of assets where feasible.
• Assist in Business Continuity Management (BCM) activities by maintaining asset inventories critical to continuity planning and recovery.

Reporting and Administrative Support

• Prepare regular operational and asset management reports and provide administrative support for tasks assigned.
• Support documentation of SOPs and work instructions related to asset management and laboratory operations.

Job Requirements

• A Bachelor’s in Science, Engineering, Facilities Management, Operations, or a related discipline.
• At least 2–4 years of relevant experience in laboratory operations, asset management, facilities, or operations support within a research or technical environment.
• Experience with asset management systems and asset sighting exercises is preferred.
• Detail-oriented, with a systematic and organised approach to data and documentation.

The Laboratory of Skin Stem Cell Dynamics, headed by Dr. Kenneth Lay, investigates how stem cells of the skin govern tissue homeostasis and contribute to disease pathogenesis so as to reveal novel pharmacological intervention points. We focus on two stem cell populations that maintain distinct compartments of the skin throughout our lifetime: epidermal stem cells and hair follicle stem cells. We use in vivo mouse models and in vitro human 2D cell culture, 3D skin organotypics and iPSC-derived skin organoids, and employ cell and molecular biology, biochemistry and omics technologies to tackle inflammatory skin disorders, including atopic dermatitis and hair loss.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join our laboratory in A*STAR Skin Research Labs (SRL) and affiliated with Skin Research Institute of Singapore (SRIS), a tripartite partnership between A*STAR, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National Skin Centre (NSC) to improve skin health in Asia and globally.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Lead, design and perform experiments involving mouse models, human cell cultures, bulk and single cell omics technologies, genome editing, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology

The A*STAR Skin Research Labs is seeking a Scientist with strong expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology to lead and support analytical research on the Digital Twin of Skin (DTS) and optical metrology of Asian skin. Skin is a remarkably complex organ, and our approach embraces this richness by decomposing it across multiple spatial and biological scales—nano, micro, and meso. At the nanoscale, this includes molecular and cellular information such as DNA, RNA, proteins, and other biochemical constituents, while higher scales capture tissue structure, optical properties, and functional responses.

The Digital Twin of Skin will integrate rigorous biophysical modeling with state-of-the-art AI methodologies into a unified framework that links mechanisms with data and prediction with interpretation. Importantly, the DTS will be explicitly tailored to address melanin-related challenges in Asian skin, including its influence on optical signatures, light–tissue interactions, and downstream diagnostic and therapeutic accuracy. By embedding melanin-aware modeling across scales, the platform aims to enable more accurate, equitable, and clinically relevant skin analytics.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for medical research to oversee the development of a novel non-adherent traumatic wound dressing. The candidate will work with a team of business development managers, regulatory specialists, and manufacturing engineers to prepare the product for commercialization. This will involve the robust characterization of the product for its mechanical, biocompatibility, procoagulant and wet adhesive properties, among others. The study will involve a broad range of in vitro testing following industry standards, alongside large animal validation studies (non-GLP and GLP, non-survival and survival). Other duties include the management of the laboratory (safety and logistics), supervision of students (undergraduate and graduate) and contribution to research grants preparation.

Qualifications

•    Possess a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or equivalent.
•    Preferably with 5 years of postdoctoral experience in a relevant research field.

The following skills are a requisite:
o    Biomaterial development, which may include mechanical processing, chemical synthesis, additive manufacturing or microfabrication (or other relevant techniques)
o    Material characterization and testing (mechanical, biocompatibility, surface chemistry, electron microscopy)
o    Blood handling, processing and characterization (biochemistry, biophysics, histology, etc.)
o    Familiar with animal study design, execution and associated administrative procedures
o    Familiar with laboratory management and operations (safety, procurement, documentation, etc.)

•    Experience and expertise in thrombosis biology and molecular biology will be an advantage.
•    Good written and spoken communication skills.
•    Open to fixed-term contract.

Job Description

ADVANCE ID is jointly funded by the Wellcome Trust and Singapore institutions including the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and Yong Loo Lin School ofMedicine, National University of Singapore. The vision of the Network is to improve public health by developing the clinical evidence base for the prevention and treatmentof drug-resistant infections. Its mission is to build and sustain a strategic clinical research network focussed on most efficiently delivering locally relevant interventions for drug-resistant infections.

The Network aims to improve and strengthen clinical research capabilities in the regionby acting as a platform to develop good principles and practices. It will stabilise capacityand capabilities to mitigate inefficiencies in trial start-up phase and loss of skillset following study closure, as in typical trial setup. The Network will continuously developits capabilities, quality and efficiency by learning from and collaborating with other clinical trial networks.

In the long term, the Network aims to support broader infectious disease studies by expanding geographically beyond its original starting point in South East Asia and collaborating with other networks around the world. It will function as an active networkthat involves patients in platform trials, allowing for rapid clinical research response inthe event of an emerging infectious disease or pandemic threat.

The current lead faculty of the Network are Professor David Paterson (Director) and Dr Mo Yin (Deputy Director). The senior executive/assistant manager will be working closely with the Network directors, progamme manager (Dr Ding Ying) and project managers to deliver ADVANCE-ID’s aims and objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Develop contract proposals to support Advace-ID's goals
•Negotiate contract terms with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring thatprojects remain within the established budget
•Review and update existing contracts
•Analyze potential risks involved with specific contract terms
•Stay up-to date with legislative changes and coordinate with the legal department asneeded
•Ensure all deadlines and conditions described on contracts are met (e.g. paymentsand shippings)
•Maintain organized system of physical and digital records

Qualifications

1.Degree in life science or health-related subjects
2.Prior experience in a contract administration role in clinical research field in Singapore
3.Has strong negotiation and mediation skills
4.Knowledge of legal requirements involved with contracts
5.Ability to work with varying stakeholders levels, including finance, legal team,research office, and external partners.

Job Description

The research aims to develop an online framework for assessing fatigue, structural integrity, and operability of multiple floating offshore wind turbines, supported by computationally efficient learning algorithms with predictive (prognostic) capabilities. The system enables prescriptive decision-making that can be integrated with operation and maintenance strategies. The research staff will work in a multi-disciplinary team on the engineering analysis and design of the floating offshore wind turbine supporting structures, with close collaboration with members from other research institutes in Singapore. 

He/ she will be required to:
-    Develop computationally efficient learning algorithm adaptable for online fatigue and integrity assessment, which includes prognosis approach for predictive analytics.
-    Develop prescriptive fatigue and integrity assessments integrable with operation/maintenance strategy.
-    Coordinate research progress with other research teams in the entire research team

Job Requirements
