Junior DP & ElectricalEngineer will support the Britoil Fleet DP & Electrical Manager in completion of assigned tasks relevant to department activities.
· Supporting the management of DP and electrical (DP&E) documents fleetwide
· Identification of critical spares for in service and obsolete DP&E equipment
· Monitoring critical spare level for all vessels
· Support in maintaining cost effectiveness for DP&E equipment critical spares
· Remote / on-site support troubleshooting of dynamic positioning and critical electrical systems
· Vessel attendance to support relevant activities not limited to repair, commissioning, upgrades, improvements, reactivation, vessel intake from shipyard, vessel performance and DP trials
· Developing of vessel checklists and operations manual in line with SMS and safe DP documentations (Unisea)
· Participate in designated training to develop capability as a DP&E Engineer
· Participate in equipment and efficiency improvement projects
· In charge of project that requires DP upgrades or major electrical system upgrades. Electrical engineering support during project tender stage – work scope finalization & project execution
· Review of electrical system design for main switchboard protection, control, distribution, vessel automation, thruster & propulsion control systems, electrical motor drives, UPS, LV/HV and power management systems as necessary
· Support DP&E and Technical superintendents as required
· Support training and induction to company’s processes to on board electricians and ETO
Qualifications
· Degree or Diploma in electrical, electronic or mechatronics engineering
· Knowledge of offshore vessel - electrical generation, distribution MSB, shipboard auxiliary equipment, electronic equipment, thruster and DP control system
· Experience as a service engineer or technician supporting offshore vessel troubleshooting of dynamic positioning and critical electrical / control systems
· Equipped with a good level of computer literacy
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
