About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on and people-oriented Assistant Manager, Customer Service to support the Operations and Customer Service Head in overseeing daily operations, administrative matters, and service excellence initiatives. This role is responsible for managing the customer service training team while remaining closely involved in frontline operations.

The ideal candidate has strong ground-level customer service experience, proven people management skills, and practical exposure to POS systems in an operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Department Support

• Support the Operations and Customer Service Head in day-to-day departmental coordination, planning, and administrative matters.
• Assist in implementing and reviewing customer service policies, procedures, and SOPs to ensure consistent service standards.
• Monitor operational performance and identify service gaps or improvement opportunities.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and operational documentation for management review.

Team & People Management

• Manage, coach, and supervise a team of Customer Service Trainers to ensure effective onboarding and continuous development.
• Conduct regular team check-ins, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
• Support manpower planning, scheduling, and deployment in collaboration with the department head.

Training & Service Excellence

• Oversee the planning and execution of customer service training programmes, including POS-related training.

Experience & Background

Job Responsibilities:

1.     Receive, sort, process, and distribute all incoming and outgoing mail and packages; maintain accurate records and ensure timely delivery.

2.     Manage gifts purchased by the branch, oversee departmental requisitions and issuance for client gifting, and conduct regular physical inventory counts to reconcile records.

3.     Assist with procurement-related tasks, including placing orders with vendors, processing requisitions, comparing prices, and negotiating to support cost-efficiency.

4.     Manage budgets and expenses; perform monthly expense allocation.

5.     Assist with various hospitality activities, including banquets, receptions, and other events as required.

6.     Provide driving services to deliver supplies and materials for daily branch operations, collect and distribute documents and items across branches, and transport branch VIPs when needed.

7.     Perform additional duties reasonably assigned by supervisors or management.

Requirements:

1.     Diploma or Degree in any discipline.

2.     Team player with good communication skills.

3.     Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

4.     Proficiency Microsoft Office applications.

5.     Valid LTA Class 3 driving license with a clean driving record.
