Role Overview:

OMNIVISION Technologies Singapore is seeking a Senior/Staff Algorithm Engineer to develop and enhance advanced image and video processing algorithms for camera-related applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and develop advanced image processing, color processing, and computer vision algorithms for digital camera systems.
• Enhance and extend existing solutions to improve functionality, image quality, and performance.
• Collaborate with hardware design teams to support algorithm implementation, optimization, and validation.
• Perform image quality tuning, evaluation, and benchmarking.
• Document algorithms, design methodologies, and validation results.

Qualifications:

Advantageous:

• Experience with multimodal imaging, neuromorphic vision systems, or deep learning frameworks.
• Familiarity with image sensors, ISP pipelines, color science, and image quality metrics.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying image processing algorithms on hardware or embedded platforms.

What you'll do

● Build internal tools and small products that the design community across relies on, from process tools to ways of sharing information and rolling out programs

● Take a hypothesis and turn it into something real and usable, fast

● Work AI-native, using agentic coding tools as the core of how you build, and pushing to see how far they can take us

● Own the tools you build, maintaining them until they grow past a small-scale tool and can be handed off to others to scale

● Work alongside designers to understand what they need and build things that genuinely help them

What we're looking for

● 3-6 years building interactive work as a product designer, with more recent experience as a creative technologist, building interactive prototypes, or in front-end development

● Hands-on with agentic coding tools like Claude Code and Codex, and you've used them to ship real tools and products, not just demos

● You can take an ambiguous problem, define it, and break it down so it can be built well and hold up as it's used

● Enough technical understanding to build things that deploy and stay secure, and to collaborate smartly with people who go deeper on backend and infrastructure

● A portfolio of things you've made and shipped, not just designed

Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for maintaining optimal machine performance through downtime troubleshooting including diagnosis and resolve of machine issues efficiently, implement long-term solutions for recurring problems, collaborate with vendors and assist in updating ISO documentation to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance by identifying potential part failures and recommend improvements to extend component life, ensuring smooth and efficient equipment operation.
• Support new machine qualification (PAC/buy-off) and ensure machines meet safety standards and verify parts against specifications.
• Assist engineers in preparing work point instructions (WPI) to facilitate smooth product introductions and business growth.
• Manage machine-related spare parts, including stock checks and order placements.
• Recommend cost-saving measures through localization or vendor changes to reduce cost.

Requirements: 

• Diploma in Engineering, specializing in Electrical / Mechatronics / Mechanical

Responsibilities:

• Assisting engineers with the design, creation, and assembly of machines, systems, and their components.
• Performing tests and inspections to verify designs and ensure quality control, which may involve using measurement metrology or engineering simulations.
• Supporting the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems and equipment
• Following workplace safety and health (WSH) procedures, preparing documentation, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Working closely with engineers, project teams, and technical support staff to meet project requirements and provide feedback.
• Applying specific technical skills related to the project, which could range from using automation control for machines to working with software development lifecycle methodologies.
