In Maybank, we are seeking a hands-on engineer to support the Emerging Technologies function within the FinTech & Emerging Tech CoE.
This role focuses on adapting and building new technologies including digital asset and tokenization capabilities, delivering high-impact experiments and scalable reference architectures aligned with the bank’s strategic priorities.
You will work across engineering, experimentation, and business collaboration to translate emerging technologies into practical, enterprise-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering and Platform Development Design, build, and integrate software and infrastructure for emerging technology initiatives, including blockchain-based solutions, smart contracts, APIs, and microservices.
Experimentation and Prototyping
Build PoCs and MVPs with a clear path to productionization, ensuring design decisions account for scalability, security, and operational constraints from the outset
Collaboration and Technology Evaluation
Scaling and Operationalization
Evolve PoCs into enterprise-grade solutions with production readiness (e.g., resilience, scalability, security).
Develop tools and playbooks for continued support and maintenance of deployed assets (e.g., monitoring, testing, forensics).
Document and track technology debt and key business continuity risk items with defined action plans.
Role requirements
- 6-15 years of experience in software engineering and architecture.
- Hands on expertise in building and delivering solutions on DLT platforms (Ethereum, Hyperledger, Corda)
Experience developing production-grade Digital Assets solutions, such as tokenization platforms, lifecycle management, custody solutions, compliance / risk management systems, interoperability protocols, etc.
Strong programming skills (e.g., Java, Typescript / NodeJS, Python, Go, Solidity and / or Rust).
Hands-on experience with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code tooling (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD systems)
