Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: 

The Construction Engineer, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) supports Project Engineers during the design phase through constructability reviews and subsequently leads field execution of E&I projects to ensure safe, cost‑effective, and on‑schedule delivery.

This role collaborates closely with Project Engineers and Design, Reliability & Inspection Engineers to develop high‑quality job packages, with a strong focus on electrical and instrumentation engineering standards, codes, and plant requirements. Key responsibilities include supporting project engineering team in participating constructivity review (including cost estimates, E&I layouts and drawings review, tender documents review, evaluating contractor bids, procurement, inspection, and issuance of E&I construction materials).

During execution, the Construction Engineer coordinates contractors and maintenance technicians to ensure disciplined construction, effective change management, and alignment with project objectives. The role leads Job Safety Analyses, conducts field and safety audits, manages punch listing, and stewards contractor safety performance.

The position also supports commissioning and start‑up, ensures complete documentation and records, and facilitates a smooth handover to Operations. Contractor selection emphasizes safety, health, and environmental performance in addition to cost.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

• Experience in managing projects in petrochemical industries

Work Location

Selected candidate will be based in Chevron Oronite plant on Jurong Island, Singapore.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and conduct construction equipment (mostly excavator and cranes) inspection and audit for infrastructure projects in Singapore (4 on-going projects)

• Diagnosing faults from company's heavy equipment

• Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts (for minor faults)

• Repairing damaged equipment parts if damages are minor

• Arranging and coordinating with machinery and suppliers for repairing damaged equipment, if damages are major

• Cleaning, lubricating and conducting routine services on equipment

• Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to Management

• Generate and report audit finding to Management

• Participate in major vendors / equipment assessment, selection and evaluation

Facilities Building Services – Senior Construction Engineer is responsible for leading and managing building construction and building services projects to achieve safety, cost, schedule, quality, and sustainability objectives. This role covers the full lifecycle of construction and building services-related initiatives, including new installations, maintenance, retrofits, renovations, refurbishments, upgrades, and renewal programs across CSA and M&E systems. Additional responsibilities include facilities maintenance systems administration, support services (cafeteria, janitorial, landscaping, pest control), plumbing and sanitary, office fit-out and layout planning, and building-related maintenance, documentation and administration.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring zero safety incidents, on-time delivery, budget adherence, and quality outcomes.

• Manage project cost control activities, including estimating, budgeting, cash flow tracking, and financial performance.

• Monitor construction progress, schedule and safety performance to meet key milestones.

• Ensure all construction and building services works comply with applicable Singapore building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate closely with Global and Site Facilities, Construction, Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, IT, Layout, and Planning teams to ensure alignment on project objectives.

• Review engineering design packages and provide input on constructability, cost, schedule, value engineering, and prefabrication.

• Provide engineering solutions and technical support throughout design and construction phases.

• Coordinate testing, commissioning, defect management, and handover to ensure full operational readiness.

• Implement risk management strategies and support project justification, estimates, and approvals.

• Oversee consultant deliverables to ensure compliance with Micron standards and best‑in‑class engineering practices.

• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to support team development and performance.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical guidance to resolve project challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in building, Construction Management, Project Management, Civil & Structural Engineering, Engineering, or Architecture.

• Experience in construction engineering, preferably within the semiconductor or facilities environment.

• Strong technical knowledge in construction, building services, and facilities systems.

• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.
