The (Senior) Assistant Manager, Partnerships in the Global Impact Office builds and operates an integrated international partnerships platform that advances SGH’s Global Impact strategy by sourcing, shaping, and stewarding high-value collaborations with hospitals, academic medical centres, multilateral agencies (e.g. WHO, ASEAN), and ministry departments across Asia, fully aligned to SGH and SingHealth’s partnership governance and standards.

1. Create a safe working environment for employees by putting in place safety measures to prevent accident and complications that may arise during work. Also provide safety gear to employees for protection in the event of accidents

2. Supervise activities of workers to ensure that they are hands-on in order to promote hard-work, which is needed for successful deliveries and completion of production tasks to meet clients’ demands and deadlines

3. Inspect goods to be delivered to ensure that they are in the right quantity and quality. Supervise the loading of such goods into vehicles for delivery

4. Liaise with transportation companies to create a good working relationship to be able to strike good negotiations for transportation of goods, and to prevent hiccups that may arise

5. Give vivid directions and guidelines to shipping agents about nature of goods and delivery locations, and maintain communication with them to ensure that goods are not damaged on transit

6. Prepare invoice for orders and deliveries as part of record keeping measures and evidence of transaction

7. Help in recruiting competent and hardworking workers to carryout daily operations at the organization and put them through in discharging their duties

8. Ensure that workers adhere to industry standards in dealing with clients, to promote rule of law and avoid practices such as smuggling and overloading to avoid accidents which could lead to loss of lives and properties

9. Assign different responsibilities to workers to fasten the job and promote specialization and accountability. This way, non hardworking workers can easily be identified

10. Keep records of all shipping activities, documenting procedures, guidelines, and changes in procedures for reference purposes

Working days: 5.5 days 8am to 5pm, alt sat full day

Salary: $8000 to $13000 (depends on experience)

Requirement

• Masters/Degree in Civil & Engineering or equivalent, recognized universities under the BCA is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of Experience.
• Experience in Civil Works, Dredging, revetment, construction of pier/wharf.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Primavera and AutoCAD.

Job scope

• Carry out project planning, scheduling, cost control, good documentation system and project management.
• Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
• Responsible to participate in the contract review to evaluate company’s capability to fulfil contract order requirements that include involvement in the tender clarification meeting with the prospective client.
• Ensure that all aspects meet the government regulations and standards, including safety of works, inspections and testing of equipment and machinery, training needs of staff.
• Control and monitor work progress and ensure work quality.
• Oversee the effective management of project activities to assure timely delivery and low wastage.
• Overall planning and controlling of the cost of project execution.
• Manage and lead a group of engineers and construction managers.
• Overall co-ordination of the work progress of large and complex projects.
• Co-ordination with other departments on issues affecting project work.
• Liaise with government/statutory authorities, consultants, clients, suppliers etc.
• Provide timely project progress reporting to management.
• Attending project execution meetings.
• Responsible for application for the required consent / permits from the relevant statutory board or regulatory body – e.g. Port Singapore Authority (PSA), ministry of manpower.
• Detect project problems and ensure effective corrective measures are executed.
• Other ad-hoc duties required to carry out.
