SENIOR BACKEND ENGINEER

Responsibility

The Backend Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure backend services that power digital products. About The Role

The sorts of things you’ll be doing:

• Lead and contribute code as a key member of a technical team, focusing on UI architecture and implementation.

As our Senior Software Engineer, we know you’ll be doing significant learning on the job. That said, we’re hoping from Day 1 you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a heavy focus on frontend development.
• Expert proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
• Deep understanding of modern web standards (HTML5, CSS3, ES6+), responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX, Zustand) and building complex, single-page applications (SPAs), Progressive Web App (PWA).
• Track record in developing scalable, secure, and cloud-native applications.
• Familiarity with testability principles and patterns (TDD or similar) for frontend components.
• Solid experience with GitHub/Bitbucket in collaborative teams, and proactive, constructive code review habits.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs efficiently.
• Proficient with GitHub Actions and Docker Container.

Job Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer who can design, build, and deliver solutions end to end. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both high-level architecture and deep implementation work, and who is comfortable taking ownership from problem definition through deployment and maintenance.
