Reporting to the Firmware Team Lead/Project Manager, the successful applicant will be involved in switching mode power supply development activities such as firmware development, firmware verification, auto test program, prototyping, evaluation and assisting manufacturing in BETA run of the new product.

• Participate in product definition, specification, and requirements analysis working with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Collaboration on firmware architecture and development strategy with a particular focus on wired and wireless networks.
• Design new products in timely manner to meet the product spec, modify existing designs, improve existing products for better performance and /or cost.
• Participate in product definition, specification and requirements analysis working with cross functional stakeholders.
• Design, code, integrate, test, support and enhance software solutions for power conversion systems.
• Perform system integration and validation testing activities, including verification of interoperability within overall solution.
• Assist with evaluating existing and emerging technologies to identify solutions that will reliably operate in a wide range of installed environments.
• Architecting, developing, integrating, and delivering embedded and PC software in a regulated product development.
• Participating in all project lifecycle phases – from design and code development through unit testing, documentation, and release.
• Coaching and guidance to Jr Firmware engineers in evaluation and design.
• Provides technical direction to the team.
• Provide technical support to factory on design related issue.
• Provide support for power supply prototypes and production products.
• Collaborate with remote teams and local teams to support integration work with hardware team.
• Participate in software qualification activities such as SFMEA and code reviews.
• Participate in system integration and validation testing activities, including production/factory support.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

5-7 years of related work experience.

Experience or good understanding of power supply topologies and analog/digital circuitry is a plus.

Familiarity with software development (Microsoft C#, GUI).

Experience with Microchip, TI, ST microcontrollers and DSPs.

Experience interacting with software debugging in an embedded environment.

Familiarity with digital control or firmware for power electronics a plus (PWMs, ADC, digital filter).

Experience in embedded system or signal processing algorithms (DSP) control.

Experience implementing & developing communication stack driver and networking physical protocols (I2C, SPI, RS-485, PMBus, Modbus, Ethernet, etc.).

Some knowledge/experience in IoT, TCP/IP, Websocket, LWIP stack or freeRTOS will be an added advantage.

Comfortable using oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power supplies, etc.

Comfortable reading hardware schematics and data sheets.

Familiarity with version control systems (SVN), and release methodologies.

Familiarity with MISRA, IEC62304 or other coding standards will be an added advantage.

Disciplined and detail-oriented; experience delivering robust, readable code.

Experience in recreating sporadic types of issues/failures using various debugging techniques.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer- Sustaining.

Reporting to Sustaining Manager, successful applicant will be responsible for providing electrical/hardware engineering services to the global business, covering a range of power supply failure analysis and product evaluation for mass produced power supplies. The incumbent will serve as the technical advisor to build up the Asia Engineering team's competences.

• Act as a subject matter expert or working towards becoming a subject matter expert (SME) for SMPS power supplies across the Asia business.
• Engage and support strategic collaboration with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality teams. Aligns with global objectives
• Challenge where appropriate and develop best engineering practice procedures and models to improve the process
• Troubleshoot SMPS power supplies to identify root cause, and provide feedback to Quality, Manufacturing & Design teams with recommendations to drive the improvement or design changes
• Provide test plan for impact study to mitigate risk due to design changes,
• Take technical responsibility and identify technical risks within projects and drive the solution.
• Ensure all customer returns are analyzed, perform tests and experiments as needed to support or confirm customer issues
• Write & distribute failure analysis reports to internal and external customers
• Advise sales/customer on delivery schedules of customers’ issues
• Develop and supervise junior engineers and technicians

To be successful in this role, you should ideally have

• 2 years of electronics/electrical engineering experience
• Proficient in tolerance or worst case circuit analysis
• Proven experience with power supply fault analysis and repair
• Understanding of manufacturing process, test, quality and change management process
• Good reasoning, problem solving, analytical skills and critical thinker, familiar with analysis techniques (8Ds, Fish bone, DFX etc)
• Knowledge in EMC and Safety Design is a plus
• Good technical writing capabilities and communication skills
• Good stakeholders management skills
• Hardworking, dynamic and a good team player
