Job Summary
TheNetwork and System Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation,administration, maintenance, security, and troubleshooting of ITinfrastructure, including servers, networks, firewalls, and related systems.The role supports both internal and customer-facing environments, ensuringsystem reliability, security compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & SystemsManagement
- Perform installation, migration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers and IT systems.
- Design, install, configure, and maintain servers, network devices, and firewall systems.
- Proactively monitor and maintain system, network, and security infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Apply operating system updates, patches, security fixes, and configuration changes.
- Conduct system health checks, hardening activities, and remediation works.
Network & Security Administration
- Administer and support enterprise network and security environments, including data centre
- Maintain perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and security hardening requirements.
- Manage and troubleshoot TCP/IP networking, VPN connectivity, switches, routing, and related network services.
Incident Management &Troubleshooting
- Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve system, application, hardware, software, security, and network-related issues both remotely and on-site.
- Investigate incidents through system and network logs and identify root causes and preventive measures.
- Document incident reports and maintain records of system and network performance.
- Provide first and second-level technical support and coordinate issue resolution with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Project & Change Management
- Execute standard operational changes and project-related changes within approved maintenance and change windows.
- Participate in infrastructure projects, system enhancements, and new technology implementations.
- Support automation and scripting initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in requirement gathering, solution design, implementation, and deployment of new systems and services.
Documentation & Vendor Management
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including system architecture, configurations, operating procedures, process flows, and support guidelines.
- Liaise with vendors, service providers, and internal IT teams for issue resolution and project implementation.
Support & Operations
- Provide after-hours support for infrastructure incidents and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Participate in a 24x7 standby rotation roster.
- Travel to customer and project sites across Singapore when required.
Requirements
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in systems, network, and security administration.
- Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments, including on-premises.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration and Active Directory/LDAP user management.
- Experience with firewall, network, and security technologies.
