We are currently seeking a Casual Maintenance & Repairs Assistant to join the team at Oaks Port Stephens Pacific Blue Resort. You will be responsible for maintaining the presentation of guest rooms and public areas and carrying out repairs within the property.

About the role:

• Undertake general repairs and maintenance as required;
• Provide induction and supervision of external contractors;
• Implement the preventative maintenance program for each property; and
• Maintain daily work records and service schedules

Hourly rates (excluding super)

• Monday - Friday: $33.38 per hour
• Saturday: $40.05 per hour 
• Sunday: $46.73 per hour

You will support daily Food & Beverage operations, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as restaurant service, bar service, and guest interaction. You are expected to learn quickly, show initiative, and assist the team in delivering professional and friendly service to guests. You will also develop strong communication skills, a service mindset, and contribute positively to the overall dining experience.

You will oversee daily electrical maintenance operations, ensuring all systems function safely and efficiently at all times. You will maintain effective communication with Maintenance Manager and assign tasks to the team, ensuring all activities follow safety procedures and hotel standards. You will be responsible for supervising troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, ensuring tools and equipment are used and maintained properly, and supporting a safe and reliable environment for guests and colleagues.

You will support daily Front Office operations, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as Front Desk, Guest Service Center, Reservations, and coordination with Housekeeping. You are expected to learn quickly, show initiative, and assist the team in delivering professional and friendly service to guests. You will also build strong communication skills, develop a service mindset, and contribute positively to the overall guest experience.

This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard, and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
• Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
