This role focuses on core payment gateway backend development within a direct acquirer environment. The developer will design and maintain secure, high-availability systems that integrate with Visa, Mastercard, and other card schemes, ensuring compliance with PCI-DSS and scheme mandates. The role requires strong exposure to POS and e-commerce payment processing, Linux-based development, and high-performance transaction systems.
This is a mission-critical payments engineering role that directly supports authorization, settlement, and onboarding flows.
Mandatory Skills
3+ years Backend development experience in payment systems (POS & E-Commerce) – Hands-on experience building transaction processing systems covering authorization, settlement, reconciliation and onboarding flows.
2–3+ years Visa / Mastercard / International Card Scheme integration – Experience working with scheme specifications, ISO messaging, compliance mandates and certification processes.
3+ years Secure API & Payment Gateway Development – Design and implementation of scalable backend services supporting high transaction volumes.
2+ years PCI-DSS Compliance & Payment Security Standards – Knowledge of encryption, tokenization, secure key management and audit requirements.
3+ years C++ Development – Strong programming capability in C++ for backend system development.
2+ years Korn Shell Scripting – Ability to develop and maintain shell scripts in Linux environments for automation and batch processing.
3+ years Linux (RHEL/Open Systems) Development Environment – Deployment, troubleshooting and performance tuning in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
3+ years Database Management (PostgreSQL / MySQL) – Schema design, performance tuning, query optimization in transactional systems.
Base24-eps knowledge (Advantage) – Familiarity with transaction switching platforms such as BASE24-eps.
2+ years Strong troubleshooting & production support experience – Ability to debug high-severity transaction failures in live environments.
Communication & Stakeholder Collaboration – Ability to work with QA, Frontend, business teams and scheme representatives.
