Responsibilities

• Execute spot, futures, and derivatives trading orders for commodities including biodiesel and coal, monitoring trading activities and system status in real time to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Manage trading positions and risk exposures within authorized limits, conducting post-trade analysis to optimize execution strategies continuously

Job Summary

Manage full voyage operations and vessel chartering for coal shipments, coordinating with stakeholders to optimize shipping schedules, costs, and freight market insights to support trading decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage full voyage operations including vessel scheduling under charter parties, issuing voyage instructions, vessel nomination, and monitoring loading schedules and voyage progress.
• Arrange vessel chartering and tonnage for coal shipments by communicating and negotiating with shipowners, brokers, and shipping companies to secure suitable vessels and competitive freight rates.
• Calculate and process hire/freight invoices and settle demurrage/despatch accurately and timely to ensure proper cost handling.
• Coordinate with the trading department on transportation needs and liaise with shipowners on cargo loading and unloading matters.
• Establish and maintain relationships with agents, collect port information, and monitor vessel status during port stays and voyages.
• Liaise with Protection & Indemnity (P&I) Clubs to resolve operational disputes effectively.
• Track freight market trends and provide actionable freight market insights to support trading and shipment planning decisions.
• Manage freight contracts and voyage documentation while maintaining daily communication with shipowners and agents.

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Maritime, Shipping, Logistics, International Trade, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in vessel chartering, shipping, or maritime logistics, with proven ability to work with shipowners, brokers, or shipping agents in the coal industry.
• Strong business communication and coordination skills demonstrated by effective business correspondence, negotiation, and collaboration with multiple parties.

Key Responsibilities: • Define and implement the company’s global legal compliance framework, ensuring all operations align with local regulations and international legal standards across multiple regions. • Design, refine, and manage a comprehensive global contract system, including the development of standardized legal templates; oversee the drafting and review of high stakes commercial agreements, investment documents, and other complex legal instruments; build and maintain a proactive global legal risk management structure. • Lead the resolution of significant legal disputes, including litigation and arbitration, on behalf of the company; offer direct legal support and strategic guidance during major negotiations, M&A transactions, financing activities, and other critical business initiatives to protect corporate interests. • Deliver strategic, forward-thinking legal counsel to senior leadership and business units; proactively identify, assess, and communicate potential legal and compliance risks inherent in global operations. • Supervise and mentor the global legal team, including professionals based in Singapore and other international offices; coordinate and manage relationships with external counsel and legal advisors to ensure optimal support. • Monitor and analyze legal and regulatory developments in key markets; build and maintain a centralized global legal information repository to inform and guide business strategy.
Qualifications: • Bachelor degree or higher in Law (e.g., LL.M., J.D.) from a prestigious university, or possess a foreign legal degree. • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a top-tier law firm and/or the legal department of a multinational corporation, including at least 5 years in a management role (e.g., Legal Director, Senior Legal Counsel). • Proficient in corporate law, contract law, foreign investment, data privacy, intellectual property, and dispute resolution. Possess extensive experience and a successful track record in handling cross-border transactions, compliance projects, and complex legal disputes. • Excellent bilingual communication (Chinese & English), negotiation, and drafting skills, with the ability to use English as the primary working language. Strong leadership, cross cultural collaboration skills, and the ability to clearly articulate complex legal issues to senior executives. • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and risk judgment.
