THE ROLE

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join the Internal Audit branch of the Compliance & Internal Audit Analytics team at Wise.

You’ll partner with Internal Audit (IA) to develop and implement the analytics strategy across the function.

Internal Audit serves as an independent 3rd line of defence that oversees and provides an independent assessment and reasonable assurance on the effectiveness of the company’s corporate governance structure + internal controls. 

The IA Analytics team supports IA by using analytics to provide more coverage, efficiency and accuracy to audit testing, as well as building innovative tools and using automation to support continuous testing and other IA activities beyond the annual audit plan.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Partnering with stakeholders across the IA function covering all regions, products and domains of the business (including Financial Crime, Ops, Risk, Finance and Technology). You will have a specific focus on APAC focused audits and working with the APAC regional team.

• Identifying & implementing opportunities to do the most impactful analytics within audits and influencing and upskilling your partners in IA to do the same

• Working with analytics, engineering, and business specialists to seek out and understand interesting and varied datasets, perform analytics using modern approaches, and develop a strong understanding of operations at Wise.

• Championing innovation and data-led insights, not just within audits but across all IA activities where analytics can add value

• Working on automation and tooling projects to increase efficiency across IA including workflow automation, continuous auditing, leveraging AI, and building MI dashboards.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Recovery & Enforcement Intern. This role is primarily focused on debt recovery operations, with the opportunity to gain hands-on, practical legal exposure in litigation and enforcement processes in Malaysia.

You will gain insight into how recovery strategies are executed—from early-stage collection efforts to legal enforcement and litigation, and have the opportunity to work with external legal counsel and third party recovery agencies.

What will you do:

Recovery & Enforcement Operations Support

• Analyse portfolio performance and recovery trends

• Support the management of delinquent accounts and execution of recovery efforts including tracking, follow-ups, and coordination
• Assist in monitoring repayment progress and implementation of restructuring arrangements and recovery strategies
• Liaise with external legal counsel and other external parties on recovery and litigation matters
• Support preparation, review and summarisation of recovery and litigation-related documents
• Support the filing of all cause papers and monitor compliance with court deadlines
• Support coordination of litigation-based recovery actions, including judgment enforcement
• Maintain and support continuous improvements on records, trackers, and reporting for recovery and enforcement cases, including supporting enhancements and new tracker development
• Undertake any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time within the scope of the role

Hands-on Enforcement & Regulatory Exposure

• Gain practical exposure to litigation-based recovery processes, including supporting the preparation and review of cause papers (e.g. statements of claim, affidavits, enforcement documents), under the guidance of the Legal team
• Develop understanding of enforcement and asset recovery strategies in practice
• Gain practical exposure to the practical steps and processes that facilitate enforcement actions, including:
• Supporting processes involving JPJ (vehicle ownership / enforcement checks)
• Land Office searches and dealings (e.g. title verification, encumbrances)
• Stamp Office processes and documentation requirements

Job Description:

We are looking for an Audit Analyst to support the Group's Internal Audit requirements by executing risk‑based audits, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements in Singapore. This role provides hands‑on exposure across governance, risk management, compliance, and data analytics, working closely with business stakeholders while maintaining objectivity and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of the annual risk‑based audit plan, including planning audit scope, objectives, and timelines for assigned engagements.
• Perform audit fieldwork such as process walkthroughs, control testing, sampling, and documentation, ensuring work is completed in accordance with internal audit standards.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes, risk management, fraud controls, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Group policies, and SOPs.
• Review compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA), regulatory and licensing requirements, and industry obligations, identifying gaps and control weaknesses.
• Prepare clear and accurate audit working papers, audit schedules, and draft findings to support audit conclusions.
• Analyse financial and operational data to identify irregularities, trends, and potential risks, and support the use of data analytics and automation in audit activities.
• Assist in updating risk assessments and collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to align assurance efforts.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting, or financial analysis preferred.
• Professional qualifications such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA (or working towards) are an advantage; ISCA or CISA is a plus.
• Working knowledge of auditing standards, internal controls, and risk‑based auditing concepts.
• Familiarity with Singapore regulatory environment, including MAS guidelines and the Companies Act, is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with financial and operational data.
