About the role

The Laboratory of Skin Stem Cell Dynamics, headed by Dr. Kenneth Lay, investigates how stem cells of the skin govern tissue homeostasis and contribute to disease pathogenesis so as to reveal novel pharmacological intervention points. We focus on two stem cell populations that maintain distinct compartments of the skin throughout our lifetime: epidermal stem cells and hair follicle stem cells. We use in vivo mouse models and in vitro human 2D cell culture, 3D skin organotypics and iPSC-derived skin organoids, and employ cell and molecular biology, biochemistry and omics technologies to tackle inflammatory skin disorders, including atopic dermatitis and hair loss.

Centre for Lifelong Learning and Individualised Cognition CLIC is a research collaboration between the University of Cambridge and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and hosted by the Cambridge Centre for Advanced Research and Education in Singapore (CARES) that aims to develop neuroscience-based interventions for lifelong flexible learning. About the role

We are looking for a Science Teacher (Primary) to deliver engaging and effective science lessons for P3–P6 students.

This role focuses on strong lesson delivery, student understanding, and contributing to a consistent and high-quality learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach 10 to 12 classes per week including covering classes where required. Single weekend contract available.
• Deliver structured and engaging science lessons using the centre’s curriculum and teaching approach
• Explain concepts clearly and guide students in applying answering techniques
• Monitor student understanding and address learning gaps during lessons
• Mark students’ work, track their progress, and provide constructive feedback
• Maintain a safe, focused, and positive learning environment
• Build rapport with parents and provide updates on student progress termly
• Support trial classes and centre-level activities
• Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Science or related field (MOE/NIE-trained preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in primary science following MOE syllabus
• Strong subject knowledge with clear and structured explanation style
• Able to engage students and manage classroom effectively
• Responsible, consistent, and organised in lesson preparation and marking
• Open to feedback and continuous improvement

Position Overview

A/P Chen Ying from Mathematics Department, National University of Singapore is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Research Associate (Full-Time) to lead the end-to-end design and development of interactive systems for cutting-edge optimization and machine learning (ML) models. This role is pivotal in "translating" complex academic research into functional, high-fidelity web applications and interfaces. You will work at the intersection of applied software engineering, user-centered design, and AI systems.

Major Responsibilities
•    Full-Stack Development: Lead the design and implementation of intuitive UIs and robust backend architectures for ML models.
•    System Integration: Build and maintain data collection pipelines and experimental setups that bridge backend mathematical models with frontend interfaces.
•    Architecture & Scaling: Maintain clean, scalable codebases and assist in the deployment of research tools to cloud or edge environments.
•    Rapid Prototyping: Develop high-fidelity UI prototypes through iterative, user-centered design cycles.
•    Collaboration: Actively participate in lab meetings and workshops with professors, research fellows, and industry partners.

Qualifications
•    Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering or a related technical field, with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
•    Strong experience with modern web frameworks, with a preference for React.js.
•    Proficiency in Python and experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
•    Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL solutions (e.g., MongoDB).
•    Proficiency in version control (Git) and modern development environments (VS Code, PyCharm, etc.).
•    Ability to explain technical trade-offs to a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred (Bonus) Skills
•    Experience in designing and consuming APIs Design.
•    Experience with human-centered design
•    Exposure to machine learning pipelines (Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow) and model deployment.
•    Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud services (AWS, Firebase, or similar).
