We are looking for highly motivated and talented researchers to join our interdisciplinary team working on advanced modelling of complex large-scale urban systems, with a particular focus on land use, transport, and the built environment.

This role will involve developing, applying, and refining computational models to better understand urban dynamics, including how land use and transportation interact with the physical, social, and economic environment.

They will work with a collaborative and interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers that have a passion in understanding the dynamics of large-scale socio-technical systems such as urban transportation (either land, air and/or sea) as well as the relationship between the built environment and social outcomes (such as health or behavioural outcomes across different population segments).

Shortlisted candidates would have the opportunity to work with various external collaborators, either from government and/or industry and work on high-impact real-world research problems, in which they will apply various computational tools such as modelling and simulation and AI to derive insights that can inform urban policy and planning.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Physics, Engineering, Data Science, Geography, or related fields with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Python or R with experience in geospatial and/or statistical packages.

Relevant research/project experience in either of these fields:

• Spatial analysis / Geospatial information system (GIS).

We are hiring a full-time English / Science Educator for a centre-based teaching role in the Jurong West area.

• Research experience on advanced short-fibre reinforced thermoplastic composites in multiple material systems, heating mechanism and profile optization for thermoplastic composite forming, AI assisted design for composite mechanics, induction heated welding and intergration with robotic-based system, space manufacturing, frontal polymerization, etc
• Working with a team of scientists and engineers to enhance the capability of thermoplastic composite forming technology
• Formulate scientific research direction and innovative proposals to secure competitive funding
• Understand the advanced manufacturing domain and provide innovative solutions to industry problems in the area
• Familiar with CAD and CAE tools, SolidWorks, etc. Have experience in AI-assited data processing, supervised learning, AI assited FEA, etc.
• Deep knowledge of a wide range of forming technologies of metal, composites, and polymer materials
• Conduct mechanical tests, testing tool/jig design and material characterizations
• Develop and test innovative solutions for composite fabrication in space application.
• Prepare project progress update presentation for customers
• Prepare research project proposals, presentations, and reports, conduct R&D experiments and file technology disclosures
• Support in the process equipment set-up, laboratory operations, and inventory management for export control items
• Keep a good record of production work orders, laboratory data, methods, results, drawings, etc.
• Able to perform well in both industry-type and research-type projects

JOB REQUIREMENT

• Ph.D. in Aerospace/ Mechanical/ Material Science Engineering, etc
• Candidates with strong fundamentals in material science and mechanical engineering are welcome
• Experienced with composite moulding machine operations and process troubleshooting
• Good track record of scientific publications in top journals and conferences
