About the Role:

Knowledge and Experience

• 5–10 years of experience with a network or hosting provider, market data or information services firm, data vendor, ISV, redistributor, or financial institution.
• University degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of network solutions and an understanding of the trading strategies they support across the Asia Pacific region.
• Strong expertise in real-time market data distribution and consolidated feeds, including delivery considerations such as latency, normalisation, entitlements, and onboarding across multiple asset classes.

Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in negotiation, with a solid understanding of data flow through buy, sell, securities servicers and various distributors acting in the financial services industry
• Proven track record in Managing a Team of Sales product, model or software sales within the financial markets selling to banks, buy-side or sell side institutions
• Firm understanding of various business units in banking and asset management and their use of ratings
• Strong Leadership skills with ability to motivate both junior and seasoned sales reps
• The appropriate candidate should have sound leadership skills leading and the ability to engage in public speaking events as part of a participation to conferences and seminars to promote Moody’s Analytics franchise
• A good understanding of credit risk management principles, associated regulations and finance and risk management, acquired either by advanced study or through industry experience

Education

Responsibilities

The Sales Manager will manage a Sales team responsible for the development of business in the APAC + Middle East Region. Sales Representatives are responsible for generating new business and growing existing relationships, covering the licensing of Moody’s Credit Research and Ratings and the redistribution of Moody’s content. For this reason, the Sales Manager should demonstrate excellent communication skills in order to transfer deep knowledge of the sales dynamics to the Team.

The candidate is required to manage the Team achieving the business goals of generating new business sales revenue and managing renewals in the APAC + Middle East region working out of the Singapore office.
The role of Sales Manager will also involve working successfully with the Team to create long term relationships with the current clients in order to strengthen the book of business and solidify the thought leadership of Moody’s Analytics within the best accounts and the market as a whole.

• Manage the Team to build and maintain new and existing client relationships through a strategic Sales approach increasing sales activities and achieving set quarterly/yearly targets
• Management of the Sales Team includes motivating, coaching, developing & appraising staff members to ensure that the team:
  - are fully trained to meet the needs of their roles
  - achieve or exceed their objectives
  - create and apply best practices in delivering training and presentations to our prospective and existing clients
  - deploy the team effectively to maximize their impact on our client base
• Responsible for recruiting, retaining and training the team to optimize department performance
• The Team should also be managed in order to demonstrate the superiority and value of the Company’s products to potential and existing clients. This will often involve high level client meetings, quality presentations, model discussions, product demonstrations and drafting proposals
• The Sales Manager will also work with internal partners and his resources to manage client relationships and to ensure Moody’s products continue to provide leading edge solutions in credit risk
• Work closely with Product Management and Product Strategy to promote improvement of product quality and identify new sources of revenue
• You will prepare and circulate market insight comments and enhance our hypothesis-based selling efforts that help to create awareness of Moody’s Analytics expertise internally

The role oversees both the Sales and Operations teams, drives global market expansion across ASEAN, India, Europe, and North America, and holds full accountability for the company’s Profit & Loss (P&L).

• Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and profitability

• Extensive experience with P&L management and financial leadership

• Strong understanding of supply chain, procurement, and global logistics

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in investment banking, advisory, venture capital, private equity, corporate development, or a comparable role, with demonstrated deal leadership
