Information Technology team - Singapore

IT Service Management Support provides A&O Shearman (AOS) with an initial point of contact for providing first and second line resolution for IT support calls, requests and reporting. The team manages requests for new services and liaises with other areas of IT to resolve issues with existing systems and hardware.

What you will do

The Senior IT Analyst acts as an ambassador for IT, is responsible for handling requests and incidents as well as providing operational technical support along with occasional training to all customers within A&O Shearman, but predominantly for the Singapore office. The Senior IT Officer is also responsible for driving technological adoption, challenging the status quo, engaging with customers, and is expected to contribute in a positive manner to the success of the firm.

Customer Relationship Management

• Engage frequently with customers to educate and advise on their technological requirements

Service Support

• Maintain an effective working knowledge of incident resolution across all areas of IT Support in order to maximise customer service and call resolution

• Ensure accurate and timely updates are maintained in the Incident Management System, no ticket should be more than 5 days old without a regular update
• Receive and handle requests for support following agreed procedures

Infrastructure & Application Support

• Assist in the investigation and resolution of incidents and problems relating to application, infrastructure and/or, operating and network systems

Service Delivery

• Take responsibility for the resolution of incidents ensuring 1st and 2nd line resolution is achieved, within agreed SLAs
• Meet all OLA Service activity targets in line with performance targets defined for the technology service
• Ensure that requests are properly logged, assigned, tracked and responded to in a timely manner and according to agreed standards and procedures. Ensure customers and other interested parties are kept informed of progress and that corrective action is taken to avoid or minimise delays
• Manage all calls accurately using the BMC Helix (Service Desk) ticket logging system
• Flexible with hours in order to fully support the team and to ensure the effective running of the operation outside of working hours as required

Supplier Management

• Work with suppliers to deliver services in line with agreed SLAs

Risk Management

• Appropriate escalation of incidents and requests to the Senior IT Manager in line with A&O Shearman’s processes

Quality, Methods & Tools

• Follow processes to ensure an exceptional level of service is provided to both internal and external customers

Key Relationships:

• Work with internal customers and external clients to deliver a professional, customer focused service; prioritising accordingly

• Oversee user onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring appropriate access provisioning and IT equipment setup/retrieval.
• Maintain and update IT administrative documentation, including user accounts, asset tracking, loan records, and network diagrams.
• Track and manage IT inventory, including procurement, deployment, and audits of IT assets.
• Troubleshoot issues related to Windows 10/11 (boot errors, updates, user profiles, etc.) and end-user devices (laptops, desktops, printers, IP phones, softphones).
• Support and conduct internal training on systems, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint), and IT security awareness.
• Ensure compliance with company IT policies, procedures, and cybersecurity practices (e.g., antivirus, password policies, data protection).
• Recommend improvements to existing IT processes, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Provide ad-hoc and after-hours IT support during outages, system upgrades, or preventive maintenance when required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant hands-on experience in IT support, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in hardware, operating systems, user software (especially Microsoft 365), and general end-user support.
• Proficient in IT ticketing systems, asset management, and service documentation.
• Familiarity with LAN/Wi-Fi network troubleshooting and basic network support.
• Working knowledge of IT security awareness, antivirus solutions, and data protection measures.
• Proficient in Windows 10/11 administration and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service mindset.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining IT infrastructure, providing technical support to users, and ensuring critical business systems operate efficiently to support both guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support & User Assistance

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
• Assist employees across departments with troubleshooting and IT-related enquiries.
• Ensure timely resolution of incidents to minimise operational disruptions.
• Deliver excellent service and support to both internal users and hotel guests.

Systems & Infrastructure Management

• Support the maintenance of servers, workstations, network devices, telephony systems, and IT equipment.
• Assist with system upgrades, software installations, security patches, and routine maintenance activities.
• Monitor system performance and help ensure optimal uptime of critical business applications.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.

Hotel Operations & Guest Technology Support

• Provide technical support for hotel operational systems, including Property Management Systems (PMS), Point-of-Sale (POS), and related platforms.
• Assist with conference rooms, meeting facilities, audiovisual equipment, and event technology setups.
• Resolve guest-facing technology issues promptly to maintain a positive guest experience.

IT Security & Asset Management

• Support IT security initiatives, ensuring compliance with company policies and data protection standards.
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, licenses, and equipment inventories.
• Assist in monitoring system access, user accounts, and security controls.
• Ensure all IT equipment is properly configured, maintained, and secured.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

• Document incidents, resolutions, and system changes accurately.
• Identify opportunities to improve IT processes, systems, and user experience.
• Work closely with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders on IT projects and initiatives.
• Collaborate with the wider team to support business and operational objectives.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 1–3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or technical operations.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and common business applications.
• Basic understanding of networking, servers, hardware, and IT infrastructure.
• Experience supporting hospitality systems such as PMS, POS, or hotel applications is an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
