Job Summary
The jobholder (2-year contract) The Curriculum Designer & Learning Technologist plays a key role in designing, developing, and digitalising MENDAKI’s educational programmes to ensure engaging, effective, and future-ready learning experiences.
The role combines curriculum design expertise with learning technology capabilities to develop evidence-based curricula, interactive learning materials, and technology-enabled learning solutions aligned with MOE standards and MENDAKI’s programme objectives. The job holder collaborates with internal teams, subject matter experts, vendors, and partners to ensure curricula and digital learning platforms are pedagogically sound, user-friendly, and responsive to community needs.
In addition, the role supports the implementation and optimisation of MENDAKI’s digital learning ecosystem, including the Learning Management System (LMS), and explores emerging educational technologies to enhance programme delivery and learner engagement.
The job holder is expected to work from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm on weekdays. Occasional work during weekends and Public Holidays may be required to support MENDAKI’s events. While the role is primarily office-based, the job holder may be required to travel for meetings and programme engagements.
Key Responsibility Areas
Curriculum Design & Development
a. Design and develop engaging, standards-aligned curricula, instructional materials, and assessment tools for MENDAKI’s programmes across various levels.
b. Conduct systematic reviews and updates of curriculum content to ensure alignment with learning outcomes, MOE syllabuses, and evolving community needs.
c. Apply evidence-based pedagogical approaches and instructional design principles to enhance learning effectiveness.
d. Collaborate with subject matter experts, programme teams, and stakeholders to ensure curriculum relevance, inclusivity, and learner engagement.
e. Incorporate digital learning strategies and blended learning approaches into curriculum design.
Digital Learning & Content Development
a. Digitalise curriculum materials into interactive and multimedia learning formats for online and blended learning delivery.
b. Develop and manage digital learning objects, multimedia assets, and interactive course materials using appropriate authoring tools.
c. Ensure digital content meets accessibility standards and aligns with instructional objectives.
d. Maintain and update digital learning content on MENDAKI’s LMS and other learning platforms.
e. Test and evaluate new features or updates before deployment.
Learning Technology & LMS Operations
a. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Learning Management System (LMS) and related digital learning platforms.
b. Monitor system performance and support the implementation of enhancements to improve user experience.
c. Ensure compliance with data security, privacy standards, and organisational guidelines.
d. Support the integration of learning technologies that enhance teaching, learning, and programme delivery.
Capability Building & User Support
a. Develop training resources, guides, and toolkits for tutors, facilitators, and staff to support effective programme delivery and technology adoption.
b. Conduct training sessions on curriculum implementation and digital learning platforms.
c. Provide first-level support for LMS and related learning technologies.
d. Maintain knowledge resources, FAQs, and support materials to enhance user self-sufficiency.
e. Gather user feedback to continuously improve learning experiences and platform usability.
Research, Innovation & Data Insights
a. Research emerging educational technologies and evaluate their potential applications for MENDAKI programmes.
b. Support pilot projects involving AI-enabled learning tools and other innovative solutions.
c. Generate usage reports and dashboards on learner engagement, adoption, and completion rates.
d. Provide insights and recommendations to inform continuous improvement of curriculum and digital learning strategies.
Vendor & Partnership Management
a. Collaborate with external vendors, specialists, and partners in the development of curriculum content and digital learning solutions.
b. Vet outsourced content to ensure quality, alignment with MENDAKI standards, and compliance with national guidelines.
Other Duties
a. Maintain proper documentation and version control for curriculum and digital learning materials.
b. Support organisational projects and initiatives as required.
Requirements
a. Degree in Education, Instructional Design or a related discipline.
b. 3 years’ experience in teaching and/or curriculum development, preferably
within Singapore’s primary or secondary education system.
c. Familiarity with authoring tools.
d. Excellent communication, collaboration and project management skills.
e. Open to working with vendors and external partners on content development.
f. Attention to detail.
