Duties and Responsibilities

Singapore Discovery Centre is seeking a Manager to oversee the building’s infrastructure, ensuring it remains safe, efficient, and well-maintained to support the smooth operation of the Centre. As the backbone of the facility, this role oversees all M&E, civil, and building systems, providing a stable foundation for all other services to function effectively. This leadership position drives internal teams and contractors to uphold system performance and safety standards, while also spearheading the transition to Integrated Facilities Management and Building Information Modelling (BIM) / Digital Twin.

Key Responsibilities:

1.      Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Lead and manage all hard services, including M&E, ACMV, plumbing, fire protection, civil, and infrastructure systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

The jobholder will be part of a team that conceptualises, strategises and develops a world-class NS-themed gallery (NSG) opening in 2028. The NSG aims to be a world-class gallery that impart audiences with an understanding of Singapore’s immutable vulnerabilities, the importance and significance of NS, and why we ourselves must defend Singapore.

 Key project components for this role include (a) strategising and supporting business development plans, (b) cultivating partnerships and obtaining sponsorships, and (c) contributing to the growth and engagement strategies for NSG’s membership and volunteer communities to support long‑term goals and public outreach.

 Specific to the jobholder, he/she will work with the NSG development team to drive and ensure project delivery in the following areas (including but not limited to):

Role Overview

Lead and drive strategic public engagement and integrated marketing communications initiatives to enhance brand visibility, audience engagement, and visitor experience. 2. Social Media Strategy & Content Creation

Develop and execute platform-specific content strategies across:

• Facebook

• Instagram

• TikTok

• LinkedIn

Responsibilities include:

• Content ideation, copywriting, and campaign conceptualisation

• Manage the social media calendar for reporting purpose, ensuring consistent and timely posting across all platforms

• Creation of static and video content

• Supporting SDC’s engagement strategy with various stakeholders/partners

3. Digital Platforms & Website Management

• Manage and update the corporate website, including centre updates, disclaimers, and key announcements

• Maintain and update “Movies Now Showing” listings

• Create and manage programme and event landing pages

• Optimise web content for engagement and accuracy

4. Online Reputation & Community Management

• Monitor and track reviews on Google, TripAdvisor, and Facebook

• Respond to public reviews in a timely and brand-aligned manner

• Manage direct messages and comments across all social platforms

5. Media & Influencer Relations

• Liaise with media partners and micro-influencers for collaborations

• Track media mentions, influencer features, and public coverage

6. Internal Communications

• Develop and design internal SDC monthly newsletters

• Manage SDC bulletin wall content

• Coordinate and update centre signages to ensure timely and accurate messaging

• Liaise with external organisations/partners to explore and develop CSR collaboration opportunities

Job Requirements & Preferred Skills:

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in public engagement, marketing, communications, or related functions.

• Diploma or Degree in relevant disciplines, such as:

o   Media, Arts, or Design (e.g., Graphic Design, Content Creation)

o   Digital Media

o   Marketing & Communications

o   Event/Project Management, Arts Management, Cultural Studies, or related fields (advantageous)

Technical & Professional Competencies

• Proficient in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media management, basic content production, and EDM creation.

• Working knowledge of graphic design and content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent).

• Strong copywriting skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and audience-focused messaging.

• Experience in campaign execution, event marketing, and on-ground activation support is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

To be responsible for show readiness of the Singapore Air Force Museum, for daily operations and for Museum’s public engagement/signature events, special programmes and outreach in areas of event planning and operations.

To be responsible for the appropriate staff management/scheduling of and training for event operations, and ensure that staffing, merchandise QC/inventory and event logistics are planned efficiently with resource maximisation.

To support ticketing/visitorship tracking and volunteer management, engagement and deployment.

• Enforce and adhere to Museum’s SOPs and best practise & procedures.
• Produce detailed schedules with staffing assignments, logistical requirements, inventory allocation and milestones for upcoming events and outreach
• Support the close working relationship with facility management and other departments by maintaining a master museum calendar
• Facilitate and coordinate administrative procedures, including outreach engagement forms, merchandise QC, inventory tracking and documentation & etc
• Research and keep updated on latest events, programmes and other trending experiences in the market
• Work closely with Audience Development, Partnerships and Exhibits development to provide direct and significant inputs to events/outreach engagement proposals and special exhibition operations
• Oversee the day-to-day operational readiness of FOH, exhibits and closing duties, and respond to emergency operational situations
• Manage vendors related to events/programmes and oversee their performance to ensure quality provisions and service excellence
• Coordinate outreach logistics and oversee contract labour/volunteers for travelling exhibitions including load in and load out, installation and teardown
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Diploma/ITE in Events Management, Business or Equivalent
