Designing light weight steel truss structure for building models, sketches, drawings, and blueprints using 2D and 3D design software and preparation quotations.

Main activities/responsibilities:

1. Responsible for detailed design of light weight steel truss, using AutoCAD software

2. Prepare light weight truss quotations

3. Prepare shop drawings and ensure accuracy of drawings

4. Prepare quantity and cutting list for light weight truss with accessories

5. Attend all relevant site inspections

6. Ensure correct and relevant fittings/accessories of installation to structure

7. To support and fully implement effective ISO 9001 – Quality Management System, ISO 9001-2015

Job Responsibilities :

• Understand and carry out tasks assigned by the Project Engineer.
• Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of the property (both interior and exterior), including execution and follow-through of the work order system.
• Liaise with relevant Local Authorities when required.
• Maintain proper documentation and records.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory laws, certifications, and safety standards.
• Prepare site reports, guidelines, and procedures when required.
• Perform other ad hoc duties, tasks, or projects as assigned by the Company.
• Ensure assigned work is completed within the timeline set for each project.

Support engineering and quality control activities by working closely with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to improve tooling performance, product quality, and operational efficiency.

The role is responsible for supporting tooling design, process improvement, troubleshooting, and quality compliance to ensure smooth production operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and QA teams to identify tooling requirements and resolve engineering or design related issues.
• Support tooling design, modification, and improvement activities using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Monitor tooling and production performance to improve efficiency, product quality, tool lifespan, and cost effectiveness.
• Assist in troubleshooting production and tooling related issues to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
• Implement engineering best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives within production operations.
• Ensure engineering activities, tooling processes, and products comply with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders on quality improvement and corrective action activities when required.
• Maintain proper engineering documentation, technical drawings, and related records.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out design review of C&S and geotechnical design and analysis for coastal structures such as quay wall, port, jetty, revetment and land reclamation etc. for local and/or oversea projects
• Assist the Design Manager to coordinate, manage, and oversee all design related matters including:
• Ensure design coordination, document submission from Contractor is in accordance with the time schedule
• Ensure Instructions issued by Employers are co-ordinated with the Contractors
• Study and review of submissions from the Contractors
• Resolve design discrepancies or technical conflicts which may arise from the Contractor while carrying out the construction works
• Co-ordinate with Contract and Construction team and provide necessary information or correspondences on changes which deviate from the contract and may lead to time and cost implications.
• Chair all design coordination meetings.
• Assist the Project Lead / Project Manager to carry out:
• Review on plan for Site investigation and result interpretation,
• Review on C&S, environmental and geotechnical design and analysis for coastal structures such as quay wall, port, jetty, revetment and land reclamation (i.e. deep and shallow foundation, temporary and permanent retaining system, soil improvement, instrumentation, etc.)
• Managing sub-contracts (i.e. soil investigation contract, Accredited Checker contract, biodiversity contract etc.)
• Managing main contracts
• Supervise both design and/or site work
• Prepare technical reports and submission to Clients and Authorities (i.e. GIR, concept design, detailed design, risk assessment, ground improvement, etc.)
• Ensure all engineering works comply with all relevant statutory standards, regulations and Codes of Practice
• Engage and manage stakeholders, such as clients, design team, site team and other relevant parties
• Support on pursue project: assist in tender submission
• Assist in other Coastal department activities i.e: beach clean up, sports day, etc

Qualifications:

• Bachelor/Master Degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering from recognised and reputable university
• Minimum 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience in large scale infrastructure/reclamation projects

Required Skills:

• Possess the skill, knowledge and ability to manage and co-ordinate all the design activities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Team player and able to multi-task
• Discipline, self-motivated and resourceful
• Experience in contract administration will be advantageous
• Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite of Software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc)
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plaxis etc
