Purpose
Design and deliver production-ready RF radio modules for high-performance wireless systems, owning end-to-end hardware from concept to manufacturing transfer.
Responsibilities
1. End-to-End RF Design Ownership
- Translate product requirements into RF hardware designs (schematic, RF front-end, PCB support).
- Own ~80% RF + ~20% analog/system design (power, MCU interfaces, Ethernet, integration).
- Deliver working prototypes ready for validation and production.
2. RF Architecture & Optimization
- Design compact, multi-band radio modules optimized for performance, size, and cost.
- Enable flexibility via BOM-based configurations rather than full redesigns.
- Run RF simulations and front-end analysis to validate design decisions early.
3. Validation & Manufacturing Handoff
- Define and execute RF/system-level test plans.
- Validate performance against specifications and document results clearly.
- Support smooth transition to production with complete design packages.
4. Cross-Functional Execution
- Collaborate with PCB, mechanical, and product teams to align on constraints and integration.
- Lead design reviews and incorporate feedback across disciplines.
- Identify risks early and drive trade-offs across performance, cost, and manufacturability.
5. Next-Gen RF Development
- Contribute to high-power PA design and advanced wireless systems (WiFi, BLE, GPS).
- Support roadmap-level RF architecture decisions for future products.
Success Metrics
- Fully validated RF module meeting performance and production requirements.
- Minimal redesign required during manufacturing ramp.
- Designs are modular, scalable, and reused across product variants.
- Strong cross-functional trust in technical decisions and execution speed.
Ramp Plan
- 0–30 days: Understand architecture, tools, constraints, and existing designs.
- 30–60 days: Complete RF design + simulations and review with stakeholders.
- 60–90 days: Finalize PCB, support prototype builds, and complete validation documentation.
