This project aims to develop a real-time blood analysis and diagnostic platform using an integrated microfluidic chip. This platform uses precision microfluidic technology to process and profile the biological activity of white blood cells which is related to a host of inflammatory conditions ranging from diabetes, sepsis to leukemia. The platform developed will enable point-of-care diagnosis of diseases and this project will accelerate the platform from bench to bedside through the development, deployment and testing of clinical samples.

This Engineering position offers a rare opportunity to bridge the gap between laboratory discovery of new technologies and real-world implementation of clinical deployment and testing. 

Responsibilities

The engineer is responsible for the design, prototype, manufacturing and testing of the medical device. This involves the use of with computer-aided design prototyping, setting specifications and assembly of mechnical/electrical components, testing and deployment of device for field testing.

Responsibilties include:

- To work closely with a team of clinical, mechanical/software engineers and data scientist for the medical device design and prototyping. Gather feedbacks on prototype designs by end-users.

- To Validate designs by analysing data gathered from component or system level testing. Use benchmarking techniques to characterise component and device performance.

- To ensure proper documentation of design history files and standardization of data storage for reports, presentations, technical and administrative documents.

- To source for vendors and components to ensure manufacturability and cost of medical device.

- To support the team for maintenance of equipment, inventory and purchases.

Requirements

- Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering with at least 1 years of experience in hardware prototyping and/or microfluidic operations.

The Postdoctoral Research Associate - Data Scientist will lead the acquisition, preprocessing, analysis, and modelling of medical device-generated data, and will work closely with clinicians, scientists, and engineers to translate AI/machine learning models into working, deployable software for clinical testing and point-of-care use.

This role offers a rare opportunity to bridge clinical data science, medical device engineering, and translational research, moving from experimental and clinical sample data to robust AI-enabled diagnostic workflows and deployable prototypes.

Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral Research Associate - Data Scientist is responsible for developing end-to-end data and AI/ML workflows for the medical diagnostic platform, from device data acquisition and signal/data preprocessing to model optimisation, validation, software integration, and deployment.

• Provide administrative and logistics support to the team
• Manage office supplies and inventory
• Manage procurement requests, coordinate with suppliers and stakeholders on delivery matters
• Manage expense records and claims
• Process incoming purchase orders, track customer delivery milestones and handle invoicing matters
• Coordinate security clearance for guests
• Coordinate Customer/internal events , including if applicable accommodation, catering, venue and equipment arrangements
• Support on and off boarding of new team members
• Perform ad hoc duties assigned by the management

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience supporting high-level executives.
• Service-oriented team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build and foster relationships
• Strong organising skills with ability to work within constrains and simplify tasks
• Independent, self-motivator, and adaptable
• Detail oriented and problem solver

Responsibilities:

• Handle customer complaints, returns, and improvement requests; monitor progress and ensure efficient resolution.
• Coordinate customer audits, QA visits, and surveys, including follow-up activities to address findings.
• Manage customer requests and maintain relevant customer satisfaction metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and meet customer requirements, driving product quality improvements.
  

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry and Physics.
• Basic understanding of semiconductor technology.
• >3 years’ relevant experience in module process/integration and/or quality field handling customer.
• Knowledge of problem solving (8D methodology), statistical techniques, production part approval process (PPAP) and planning/project management is an advantage
• Knowledge of ISO9001/ISO/TS16949 or VDA6.3 standards and audit handling/experience is preferred
• Strong project management skills and ability to plan effectively.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills; capable of effective collaboration with external partners and customers.
• Proficiency in presentation skills.

Job Summary

Join THE WRITER'S PLACE as a Customer Service (Part-time) to assist with administrative and operational tasks in a dynamic tuition centre environment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily administrative and operational tasks to maintain smooth centre functioning
• Communicate effectively in English and Mandarin to liaise with diverse customers
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and solving problems as they arise
• 3 weekday + 1 Saturday
• Tues-Fri: 10am-730pm
• Saturday: 830am-530pm

Required competencies and certifications

• Ability to work during tuition centre operation hours, including weekday evenings and Saturdays
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin for customer communication

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Self-driven with initiative

Work days/Location:

• Centre closed on Mondays, Sundays, and Public Holidays
• Locations: Woodlands Galaxy Community Club (5 min walk from Admiralty MRT) and Junction 10 mall (Bukit Panjang MRT)
