Job Description

To provide pre and post sales technical support for equipment distributed by BioLab. Responsibility include but not limited to performing equipment technical inspection and preventive maintenance, attending to equipment failure service calls, ensuring standard procedure in Service Department are followed and documentations updated and traceable.

Technical service support can be provided in the office through telephone and/or at customer site. Need to be independent, self-motivated and able to work under-pressure. Candidates should possess technical competency, communication skills, as well as technical analysis and problem- solving skills.

JOB DETAILS

• Perform lashing/unlashing operations on board vessels, vessel berthing/unberthing operations, container reefer, plugging/unplugging operations and water bunkering operations
• Working hours: 12 hour rotating shift, starting 9.30am/9.30pm
• Working days: 22-25 days per month
• Location: PSA container terminal
• Nature of Job: Physically demanding, standing work for long hours, work at height

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Open to Singaporeans, Singapore PRs or LTVP/LTVP+ holders with valid Pre-approved Letter of Consent (PLOC) only
• Minimum education: PSLE English Grade C, N(A) Level 5, N(T) Level D or WPLN (Reading, Listening, Numeracy) Level 4
• Physically fit as candidates are required to handle heavy equipment
• Not suitable for candidates with high blood pressure or diabetes due to the physical nature of the job

JOB DUTIES

• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), i.e. uniforms, safety helmet, body harness, safety shoes, life jacket and any other necessary safety gear before commencing operations
• Prepare in advance the necessary equipment, e.g. twist locks, lashing gears, etc. necessary for the container lashing/unlashing operations
• Work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to standard operating procedures and complying to safety rules and regulations in the operational areas
• Assist in berthing/unberthing operations
• Assist in water bunkering operations
• Fix/remove twist locks on/from containers
• Flap/unflap containers
• Plug/unplug reefer containers
• Lash/unlash containers
• Fix/unfix spreader, over heigh and uncontainerised cargo gears
• Promptly report all exceptions and unusual occurrence to team leader, STA or duty supervisor

JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lashing Specialist: Position and secure containers on board
• Coneman: Ensure twist locks are removed from the container prior to PMGO
• Ensure smooth operations and safety compliance
• Take safety precautions to avoid accident/incident possibilities
• Report any damages/incidents to superior immediately
• Attend toolbox briefing prior to commencement of work
• Observe all instructions and duties briefed by direct supervisor
• Comply with the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Observe and comply to all Workplace Safety standards, protocols, duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Find and qualify new leads, scheduling meetings via calls, LinkedIn, or emails for introductions or sales presentations.
• Offer professional services by selling, cross-selling, or up-selling our products/services.
• Build strong client relationships by keeping them informed about new products, offering solutions, and providing pre- and post-sales support.
• Stay informed about technical developments to discuss and create engineering solutions with clients.
• Customize materials and presentations to showcase product features and offer technical solutions.
• Manage accounts through all sales stages: Prospecting, Business Development, Deal Confirmation, and Post-Sales Support.
• Identify customer needs, provide solutions, and manage expectations.
• Keep up with industry trends and competitors to suggest product improvements or new offerings.
• Prepare costing, tenders, proposals, and quotes for clients.
• Document account activities, generate reports, and keep transaction records.
• Provide weekly updates on sales, pipelines, leads, and activities.
• Share sales and competitor information to support the team.
• Inform clients of any delays or issues and find alternatives to minimize inconvenience.
• Ensure responsive service with follow-ups, building strong relationships with clients to secure additional sales.
• Maintain quality service by upholding company standards.

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering in relevant fields
• 3 years of experience in technical or engineering sales, ideally within refineries, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or similar industries.
• Proficient in gathering, analyzing, processing, and storing information.
• Skilled in selling, up-selling, and cross-selling.
• Must possess personal vehicle or Class 3 driving license
