Job Description

• Act as Commission Manager, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex commissions or multiple commissions.
• To act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met through the delivery of a value added cost management service.
• Managing estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
• Ensuring the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
• Leading value engineering and life cycle costing exercise.
• Motivate team members, and drive towards positive client outcomes and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Critically analyze, challenge and brainstorm project requirements and deliverables, in order to find creative solutions and alternatives on behalf of clients.
• To lead a cost management team, ensuring that the team members deliver on all accountabilities.
• To identify & act upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates and products and hence improve the service provided to clients.
• To take line management responsibility as required.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying or similar discipline with more than 15 years’ work experience with demonstrated career growth graph.
• Relevant experience of working preferably for a construction consultancy in Singapore
• Holds a chartered QS certification with SISV or RICS
• Experience in multiple sub sectors within the property projects will be added advantage. Experience working on a range of projects across industry sectors particularly with developers and public sector projects such as healthcare, institutions etc
• English language skills are required and additional Asia language skills would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills, and strong business acumen, with the ability to drive outcomes on behalf of clients, develop new business, leverage current opportunities, and coordinate with construction and design teams to meet deadlines and deliverables
• A passion for work, and a strong commitment to producing high quality work, and in motivating others to strive for excellence, and to go the extra mile to meet client requirements.
• Experience in client management with solid experience in client facing environment that requires incumbent to utilize critical business development skills and advisory skills to enhance project delivery on value management, value engineering and life cycle costing.
• Be able to develop new business and leverage current opportunities to grow a cost management team.
• An ambition and ability to help develop Cost Management business in-country or/and Asia is essential

We are currently recruiting for an AD / Director in our Cost Management division to strengthen our Canberra based team. The successful candidate will be degree qualified with considerable industry experience and a passion for growing and mentoring teams.

• Leading existing key client relationships.
• Create and develop new client and consultant relationships and opportunities in the market.
• Be a proactive member of the Canberra senior leadership team, with responsibility to grow and develop the cost management team.
• Working closely with our wider CM business, in particular NSW.
• Take responsibility for your own deliverables and ensure all commitments are completed.
• Participate in the development of the business plan and take ownership for the delivery of project and overall business targets.
