POSITION: Regional Trade Compliance Specialist
REPORTING TO: Regional Trade Compliance Manager
LOCATION: Singapore

POSITION SUMMARY

The Trade Compliance Specialist plays a key role in supporting regional trade and customs compliance activities across the Asia Pacific region. This position focuses on coordinating compliance initiatives, monitoring adherence to import/export regulations, and supporting trade compliance audits across multiple markets.

The role works closely with regional and in-country Supply Chain, Customer Service, Regulatory, and Finance teams to maintain compliance standards, strengthen internal controls, and promote a culture of proactive compliance. It is well-suited for candidates who are structured, analytical, and collaborative, with a strong interest in regional operations and international trade.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor import/export activities across APAC markets to ensure alignment with internal compliance policies and regional regulations.
• Consolidate and review compliance data, documentation, and reports from local country operations.
• Support maintenance and validation of HS classifications and related documentation.
• Prepare regional dashboards, KPIs, and compliance performance metrics.
• Conduct research on trade regulations, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and customs requirements across multiple countries.
• Provide first-level guidance to Supply Chain and Customer Service teams on compliance matters.
• Assist in planning and execution of internal trade compliance audits and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Contribute to projects that standardize and enhance regional compliance processes.
• Support the development and delivery of compliance training materials and awareness sessions.
• Promote a culture of integrity, accuracy, and compliance within regional operations.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3–5 years of experience in trade compliance, customs, or supply chain operations within a regional or multi-country environment.
• Solid knowledge of HS classification, import/export procedures, and FTA rules of origin in APAC.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools; SAP experience is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across cultures.
• Highly detail-oriented, disciplined, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Role Overview

This role supports end-to-end HR operations within a structured corporate environment, covering employee lifecycle management, HR administration, and coordination of regional payroll activities.

The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure accurate HR processes, maintain employee records, and support compliance across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Management

• Support full employee lifecycle including recruitment coordination, job postings, interview scheduling, onboarding, orientation, and offboarding
• Prepare employment contracts, HR documentation, and maintain accurate employee records
• Maintain and update HRIS, employee database, and personnel files
• Support learning & development initiatives and performance management processes (e.g. KPI setting, reviews)

2. Regional Payroll Coordination & Data Management

• Coordinate with external payroll vendors across multiple countries to ensure timely payroll processing
• Prepare, consolidate, and validate payroll data including salary adjustments, allowances, claims, and deductions
• Review payroll outputs from vendors and ensure accuracy and compliance with local statutory requirements
• Liaise with Finance, HR, and vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth payroll operations
• Support payroll documentation and audits as required

3. HR Policies, Compliance & Reporting

• Support implementation and adherence to HR policies, employee handbook, and company guidelines
• Ensure HR processes are aligned with local labour laws and statutory requirements
• Support internal and external audits (e.g. MOM-related matters, employment regulations)
• Maintain HR statistics and generate reports for management review

4. Employee Engagement & Benefits Administration

• Plan and coordinate employee benefits programmes and company events (e.g. CNY Dinner, Christmas Party)
• Support administration of employee benefits and welfare initiatives

5. Office Administration & Workplace Support

• Maintain workplace health & safety standards and office environment
• Support facilities coordination, office administration, and vendor management
• Ensure smooth day-to-day office operations and business continuity

6. Stakeholder & Administrative Support

• Act as a point of contact for employee queries related to HR policies and administration
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders on HR and administrative matters
• Support ad-hoc HR and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline
• Minimum 3–6 years of experience in HR operations or HR generalist roles
• Experience in payroll coordination or working with outsourced payroll vendors preferred
• Prior experience in MNC or structured corporate environments is an advantage

Skills & Competencies

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good understanding of Singapore labour laws and statutory requirements
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems is an advantage
