Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook/Cleaner to prepare simple meals for children in a childcare setting. The ideal candidate will have a Food Hygiene certification, relevant experience in preparing meals for children, and the ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Cook, serve and wash simple meals and snacks according to the dietary requirements of children.
Ensure meals are prepared in a safe and hygienic manner, adhering to all food safety standards and regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dining, and food storage areas.
Monitor stock levels and manage inventory, ensuring ingredients are fresh and adequately stocked.
Serve meals and assist in mealtime routines when necessary, ensuring children’s safety and encouraging healthy eating habits.
Comply with childcare centre policies and procedures, including safety, health, and emergency protocols.
Keep accurate records of meals prepared, ingredients used, and any incidents or concerns.
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a cook/cleaner, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
High integrity and commitment
Work independently and as part of a team.
Patience, reliability, and a genuine interest in working with children.
Familiarity with kitchen safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position
7am - 4:30pm (M-F)
Standing for extended periods and handling kitchen equipment.
