ByteDance Edge Networking is a global team, bringing together innovative ideas and technologies from network architecture, intent-based networking, network virtualization, switch software and hardware co-design, and high-speed networking, to create hyperscale Internet Edge networking solutions that power several of the most popular apps in the world, such as TikTok, Capcut etc., which serve hundreds of millions of users around the globe.

ByteDance Edge Networking Team is responsible for designing, building, and operating the global, intelligent edge network infrastructure to meet the requirements of high availability, scalability, and high-performance. By joining this team, you will gain marketable software development and/or network operation experience in Internet Edge networking at massive scale.

Responsibilities:

- Design, build, operate, and optimize ByteDance's global Internet Edge networks.

- Work with cross-functional teams including but not limited to compute, storage, database, recommendation system, drive the innovation and evolution of ByteDance network.

- Work with external vendors and ISPs for device and carrier selection, perform testing and verification.

- Travel may be required up to 15% - 30% of the time.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree based on three or more years of work experience

- Good understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and MPLS etc.

- Good understanding of network monitoring protocols and tools, such as SNMP, Sflow/netflow, Telemetry.

- Familiar with data center network architecture, such as CLOS.

- Hands-on experience with major network devices, such as Arista, Cisco, Juniper, H3C, Huawei and other mainstream vendors.

- Self-motivated team player, good communication and written skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, implementation and operation in large scale Internet Peering networks. Solid skill sets in IPT/PNI/IX peering, PoP buildout, Internet routing security etc

- In-depth knowledge of network protocols and implementation in hyper scale data center networks.

- In-depth knowledge of MPLS related Traffic Engineering solutions, such as SRTE, RSVP, and LDP etc.

- Good understanding of IPv6 and IPv4-IPv6 co-existence technologies.

- Familiar with mainstream commercial switch/router chipsets, such as Broadcom, Barefoot etc.

- Network related automation skills based on Python, Linux scripting or other languages.

- CCIE/CCDE/JNCIE equivalent network certifications is a plus.

Team Introduction

• The Internal Audit team plans and executes audit projects in accordance with the audit plan and risk assessments, evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of current-state financial, compliance, and operational processes and controls.
• We advise business functions in addressing risks and control violations, developing sound solutions, and tracking and reporting on the progress of process and compliance improvements.
• This position is designed for an individual based in Singapore with a strong understanding of business and financial processes and controls, sound knowledge of the audit process, good analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• More than 5 years of working experience in internal audit, risk control, or related functions, with a strong focus on operational audits.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, risk assessment methodologies, and audit practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present audit findings clearly and influence process improvements.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment with competing priorities.
• Willingness to travel for business up to 30%.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is essential, as the role requires frequent communication with Chinese stakeholders in Mandarin-speaking markets.

ByteDance Networking is responsible for designing, building, and operating the global, intelligent network infrastructure to meet the requirements of high availability, scalability, and high-performance. Responsibilities

- Responsible for the delivery management of racks, network equipment, and integrated cabling within the datacenter. Developing and continuously optimizing delivery standards and processes to improve delivery efficiency.

- Responsible for the entire lifecycle management of network delivery, including data center site selection, site survey, network infrastructure design and requirements, supply management, and inventory management. Establishing process management standards, optimizing and improving them to ensure continuous and stable delivery.

- Following up on network delivery projects, proactively identifying risks and issues during delivery, and coordinating with all parties to resolve problems, ensuring the network project delivery SLA is met;

- Responsible for the overall construction of network delivery operation strategies, resource planning and operation, ensuring continuous improvement in network delivery capabilities and completeness.

- Integrating all aspects of demand, planning, equipment and material supply, allocation, warehousing, asset management, and network resource procurement and delivery. Continuously building and optimizing the platform capabilities for end-to-end network delivery.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field.

- 5+ years of working experience in the related field。

- Familiar with datacenter infrastructure, network equipment power supply, network equipment installation and removal, and cabling site survey and construction.

- Experience in data center EFO design, network equipment delivery, and integrated cabling delivery management.

- Experience in data center network planning and construction projects, and familiarity with network equipment, optical modules, and cables.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiar with ISP external resources planning and delivery, like dark fiber, leased lines and IPLC/IPT.

- Familiar with the entire end-to-end delivery process for datacenter.

- Experience in project management, with PMP certification.

Responsibilities

To Participate and Review Data Center MEP Design and other necessary disciplines for new data center builds and data hall fitouts

Participate in Testing and Commissioning Discussions to determine required tests to verify design elements.

Support the DC Engineering FM team to become a Subject Matter Expert and understand how to overcome design limitations and risks.

Conduct a periodic Audit or Assessment to access the effectiveness and practicality of the design in-use on our data centers

Be our ambassador to explain data center infrastructure design to visitors

To continually find ways to collaborate and break new ground to enhance MEP design to meet future needs.

Continually maintain positive and collaborative working relations with partner teams, vendors, teammates, and internal customers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

- Knowledge of standard power and cooling calculations necessary to determine capacity requirements (i.e., TIA-942, ASHRAE)

- Understand Power Redundancy and how it is implemented in design (i.e., 2N or N+1 Distributed Redundant)

- Experience with Cooling Redundancy and how Concurrent Maintainability is implemented in design (i.e., N+1 or N+2).

- Experience in the following areas:

Lead or influence a Design and Architect team to complete Data Center Conceptual >30%>60%>90% Detailed Design Process.

Practice Data Center Tiering Standards (i.e., TIA-942 Rated 3, or Uptime Tier 3) in a detailed design process.

Lead or influence a construction team to complete Data Hall fit-out experience, including IT services Coordination, Power and Cooling Planning.

Lead or influence a testing and commissioning team to perform L1 to L5 commissioning tests to validate the system design intent and resolve technical problems along the way.

- Electrical and/or mechanical engineering experience such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, electrical sub-distribution systems, etc.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to clarity and detail.
