The position offers the opportunity to work with both internal and external teams across the APAC region with exposure to cross border transactions in various industries.
Your key roles & responsibilities include:
Cross border M&A executions as the financial advisor to Japanese companies, including but not limited to:
• As a project manager and/or a team member of M&A execution deals, to execute M&A transactions including researching a sector, examining valuation of a company, supervising due diligence, structuring of a deal, documentation, making advices on negotiation tactics, attending a variety of meetings or negotiation to support clients and any other execution related activity of M&A deal
• Ensure successful execution of mandates, including working with team members within department, other departments in Mizuho Securities, Mizuho Financial Group and external advisors (legal advisors, FDD TDD teams etc)
Cross border M&A origination activities, including but not limited to origination of M&A transactions for Mizuho Securities’ clients through own business network or by directly accessing to companies after analysing their background
• Work with Mizuho Securities and Mizuho Financial Group for the production of presentation materials, prepare transaction documents for the successful procurement of the mandate.
• Supervise and create presentation materials to originate M&A deals.
Lead APAC Skill Development and Partner Collaboration
• Enhance deal origination capabilities across the APAC region by elevating the skillset of MHBK’s APAC offices through training and knowledge sharing initiatives.
• Educate MHBK staff on M&A execution, ensuring best practices and technical excellence are disseminated throughout the organization.
• Strengthen collaboration with Mizuho’s partner firms in APAC, including VCB Securities and GHL, to maximize synergies and drive successful outcomes for cross-border transactions.
What you should have:
• A Bachelor Degree or higher
• More than fifteen years of experience in the financial advisory of Merger and Acquisition.
• Skill for financial modeling, analyzing client’s financial situation, deep insight for client’s business/industry, and logical thinking
• Speaking Japanese and English fluently
• Knowledge of Japanese and global (including emerging market) financial regulations and a solid understanding of compliance.
• Management skills to motivate subordinates and coordinate the conflict between several stakeholders in the deal
• Enough network with lawyers, accountants and financial institutions in whole APAC
• Broad knowledge of capital markets, financial regulations, law, tax and accounting.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently, able to communicate effectively and interact confidently across all levels.
