Job Description

We are looking for an experienced clinical monitor to perform the study monitoring in the ADVANcing Clinical Evidence in Infectious Diseases Network (ADVANCE ID). ADVANCE ID is jointly funded by the Welcome Trust and Singapore institutions including the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. The vision of the Network is to improve public health by developing the clinical evidence base for the prevention and treatment of drug-resistant infections. Its mission is to build and sustain a strategic clinical research network focused on most efficiently delivering locally relevant interventions for drug-resistant infections.

The Network aims to improve and strengthen clinical research capabilities in the region by acting as a platform to develop good principles and practices. It will stabilise capacity and capabilities to mitigate inefficiencies in trial start-up phase and loss of skillset following study closure, as in typical trial setup. The Network will continuously develop its capabilities, quality and efficiency by learning from and collaborating with other clinical trial networks.

In the long term, the Network aims to support broader infectious disease studies by expanding geographically beyond its original starting point in South East Asia and collaborating with other networks around the world. It will function as an active network that involves patients in platform trials, allowing for rapid clinical research response in the event of an emerging infectious disease or pandemic threat.

The monitor should be able to supervise study sites and activities to ensure adherence to appropriate study protocols and applicable regulatory requirement terms of the study.

Duties & Responsibilities
•Conduct qualification visits (QV), site initiation visits (SIV), monitoring visits (MV) and termination visits (TV) at assigned clinical sites and generate visit reports.
•Monitor the progress of clinical study sites participating in a clinical study, and to assure the protocol is followed and data is reported accurately.
•Evaluate the quality and integrity of the reported data, site efficacy and investigational product (IP) management.
•Review the performance of the trial at designated sites, ensure the rights and well-being of human subjects are safeguarded and are in accordance with protocol.
•Develop patient recruitment strategies in conjunction with the clinical site to meet enrolment timelines, while also ensuring compliance with the approved standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocol/amendment(s), GCP, and the applicable regulatory requirement(s).
•Assure that adverse events are correctly documented and reported.
•Ensure proper transmission of clinical case data to the data management centers, review case reports questions and problems and clarify or obtain alterations to data as appropriate.

Qualifications

•Site Management or equivalent experience in clinical research, with understanding of clinical trials methodology and terminology.
•Ability to perform all clinical monitoring activities independently.
•Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills within a matrixed team.
•Experience working in a self-driven capacity, with a sense of urgency and limited oversight.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Management Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate category project activities pertaining to market and consumer research with the country affiliates, external research agencies and Global research teams.

2. Design and execute research projects that will adhere to the timeline and budget.

3. Investigate and select vendors via RFP process for each research project to ensure quality research deliverables, manage vendor partners to ensure work is high quality, on time, and within budget.

4. Responsible for the preparation, recommendation and approval of all research methodology including screener, questionnaire and protocols.

5. Liaise with research agency partners in the relevant country, to ensure proper execution of research studies.

6. Responsible for the review, analysis and interpretation of data generated by research partner.

7. Translate tangible consumer insights into new business opportunities and potential white space for new business/products/brands, etc.

8. Provide relevant information to guide the creative team in developing winning fragrances.

9. Provide technically competent presentations to clients in support of research capabilities and Takasago fragrance submission.

10. Manage multiple projects while maintaining high level quality in study design, questionnaires, execution, data analysis/interpretation and report writing.

11. Serve as mentor to junior researchers, share existing knowledge and experience, leverage expertise to guide or direct junior researchers.

Functional Skills/Knowledge:

1. Effectively design qualitative research to complement quantitative research programs.

2. Synthesize disparate data from customised research, secondary research, and other mix of other sources to uncover insights, create a story to drive insights into action, and provide recommendation;

3. Communicate research findings to end clients or internal business units (cross-functional departments) and key stakeholders; help socialize research to ensure learnings will be used throughout the organization

4. Work with the Research head in developing innovative methods to present complex data sets as meaningful information for effective learning.

5. Work closely with various departments to understand knowledge gaps across the business and use insights to drive strategy; utilize an understanding of previously conducted research and learnings to recognize potential gaps and leverage existing insights as possible for future needs.

6. Start customer engagement; listen to business needs and be able to support and identify opportunities based on insight.

Database Management:

1. Develop and maintain an effective database system for all research studies and information.

2. Work proactively to ensure that, through various research methods, the Singapore and regional teams are kept au fait with consumer trends.

Information Exchange:

1. Liaise with other group research or sensory resources, both internally and externally.

2. Report on research project status monthly.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Communications Research, Statistics, Social Sciences, Business, Economics, Marketing or equivalent in years of similar experience.

• Strong analytical, planning and execution skills

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Design and lead workshops and brainstorming sessions with cross-functional teams

• Work independently with minimum supervision

• Good interpersonal skills and team player

• Proficient in English both oral and written

• Knowledge of statistical software (XLSTAT, SPSS)

• Minimum (5) years of solid relevant working experience in the fragrance industry (Managerial role)

• Minimum (3) years of executive-level market research experience, preferably in the Fragrance, FMCG, or related industry.
